Born in: Rockport, Massachussetts
Birthdate: April 5, 1968
Paula Cole was born and raised in Rockport, Massachussetts on April 5, 1968. She became interested in music at a very young age; her father was in a polka band and her mother was an artist.
While in high school, she received straight As, became class president and Homecoming Queen. After high school, she attended Boston's Berklee College of Music. Ever since college, she has been playing music. She took Sinead O'Connor's place on Peter Gabriel's Secret World Live tour.
Her first album, Harbinger, was not a big success. But that doesn't mean the album isn't wonderful; the lyrics are absolutely incredible.
Paula has performed with Melissa Etheridge, Jewel, Sophie B. Hawkins, and Joan Osbourne. In 1995, This Fire was released and the first single, Where Have All The Cowboys Gone? topped the charts for weeks. Recently, Paula has been performing with Lilith Fair. |
