Gwen is credited with "additional vocals" on this single, however they are way down in the mix. This collaboration was done out of Gwen�s good will. It is not very well known because No Doubt doesn�t brag. The story is, there is a 12-year-old boy named Levar Logan Halter, who was born with HIV. He wanted to speak out to the public about the disease. When he met Poe, she was deeply touched by his story. So she therefore wrote a song especially for him called �Rise and Shine�. She wanted it to be on the radio. She hooked up with Gwen in L.A and asked her to do backups in the song. Gwen generously accepted. The song was released nationwide and all proceeds went to L.A.F.F (Levar and Friends Fund).
