The news out of Buffalo thanks to Joe and Tara is that Mexican Cession is opening the 12/2 show in Buffalo, as well as a band called Velour.

GOO GOO DOLLS IN NEW YORK STATE OF MIND; BAND VISITS THREE TV SHOWS IN NEW YORK CITY & PERFORMS THREE SOLD OUT SHOWS IN BUFFALO.
Warner Bros. recording artists the Goo Goo Dolls will visit three television shows in New York City on November 29th before heading to their home town of Buffalo, New York for three sold out concerts. The group is winding down their Fall tour in support of their triple platinum album, Dizzy Up the Girl.
On the morning of November 29th, the band will perform their hit single "Black Balloon" on "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee." The show airs at 9am EST (check local listings.)
That same afternoon, the Goo Goo Goo Dolls visit MTV's popular show "Total Request Live" where they will reveal the special 800-number for the network's "Fly 2K" contest. Viewers can enter the contest to win a trip aboard the custom-made millennium party plane that will take winners on a global adventure. The plane takes off from New York on December 20th and picks up additional winners around the world. The final stop will be back at MTV's Times Square studios in New York for a New Year's Eve celebration with performances by the Goo Goo Dolls, 98 Degrees and others. Viewers can call the 800-number or log onto MTV.com or America Online for a one-time only opportunity to enter the contest.
On the evening of November 29th, the Goo Goo Dolls will visit Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" to chat with host Jon Stewart. The taping is scheduled to air December 8th.
The group then heads north to their hometown of Buffalo, New York for three nights at Shea's December 1, 2 and 3. The sold-out shows are the first at home since August of 1998! A week later, the band will begin their overseas military CHRISTMAS TOUR visiting military bases in Spain, Italy, Germany and Bosnia, with a special performance aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy somewhere in the Mediterranean.

GOO GOO DOLLS WIN WB RADIO MUSIC AWARD; "IRIS" NAMED POP SONG OF THE YEAR.
Warner Bros. recording artists the Goo Goo Dolls were honored with the POP SONG OF THE YEAR award for their No. 1 hit "Iris" at the WB Radio Music Awards. Telecast live on October 28th from the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, winners were selected by the Radio Music Awards Academy which includes four hundred radio programmers from the top fifty radio markets.
The Goo Goo Dolls are currently headlining MP3.com's Music and Technology Tour and were unable to attend the event.
"Iris" appears on two multi-platinum albums: the Goo Goo Dolls latest release, Dizzy Up the Girl and on the soundtrack to the film City of Angels. This past February, the group received three GRAMMY nominations for "Iris."
The song was honored at the BMI Awards as 1998's "Most Performed Song from a Film" and according to the music trade publication, Airplay Monitor, it was the most played song of 1998.
Up next for the Goo Goo Dolls - an overseas military "Christmas Tour" in December. Performances include one on board the aircraft carrier the USS John F. Kennedy, and at Naval, Air Force and Army bases in Germany, Italy and Bosnia. The band is then scheduled to perform live at MTV's Times Square Studio on New Year's Eve. At a recent Sesame Street taping the Goo Goo Dolls sang with Muppet star Elmo on the song "Pride", a rendition of their hit "Slide." The segment will air in the new year.
