The GQ Men of Year Awards for me started out like any regular Goo Goo Dolls concert. I was psyched to see them and wanted to get there early in hopes of meeting them before the show. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way for me (as usual). My sister and I were stuck in traffic for about an hour and a half on a bus on the way to New York City. When we finally got to Beacon Theatre at 6:15 we saw a big crowd of girls behind barricades with brides dresses on. Someone told me that it had something to do with the new movie "The Bachelor" with Chris O'Donell. Well, after seeing those people I decided I should try and look for my friend whom I was supposed to meet there around 4:00, but I had no luck. So, my sister and I went inside. We saw a few famous people in the lobby, but I don't know their names. We went to our seats (which turned out to be "obstructed") so the usher told us to go ask a lady to get better seats, but she said we were not on the obstructed list and to come back in a little while to see if she could help in anyway. While waiting we got programs which have the Goo Goo Dolls in them, yay! When we went back to the lady concerning out seats she was happy to let us know we would be moving to the lower balcony, second row. The seats had a good view. Finally, the show started and was made up of the same kind of stuff other awards shows are, with awards and speeches and all that. Then, it was time for the Goo Goo Dolls. They raised this gigantic screen type thing and there they were, ready as usual. At first Robby was not on stage, but then magically he appeared! They sang Black Balloon and did a wonderful job as always. The only thing I could remember about what they were wearing what that John had leather pants on and his hair looked great. I was enjoying myself too much to notice in detail what they were wearing. But do correct me if I am wrong that Robby had sunglasses on, or was that Lenny Kravitz? Grrr.. I don't remember but we will all get to see when it airs on television :)Well, that's about it! The rest of the show was same ol' same ol'! I'd have to say the definite highlight was the Goo Goo Dolls and I am sure everyone would have to agree with me on that!
