Howard Stern said, "I really like this
band, I just don't like their name!" Indeed, in the alternative music
world, The Goo Goo Dolls defy any kind of convention including their weird name.
Have you heard their album "A Boy Named Goo", their third Warner
Brothers Records release? If you liked their 1993 release, "Superstar Car
Wash" then you'll love this new addition.
The group got going in Buffalo, New York in the late 80's and after
signing with Metal Blade Records they released "Jed" in 1988. While
on a Midwestern tour in support of this album the group picked up scores of fans
and lots of critical reviews in magazines like Rolling Stone and papers like the
L.A. Times.
"A Boy Named Goo" was put together back in Buffalo where the
guys banged out the songs on a boombox! Later they cut the basic tracks in New
York and then some final L.A. sessions were added. The total album packs a
wallop like no other. Check out "A Boy Named Goo" and for more info
