TROY, Mich., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Garth Brooks stars in an exclusive, new Kmart (NYSE: KM) commercial promoting the upcoming release of his ``The Limited Series,'' a six CD boxed-set of his greatest hits and six new songs.
In the :30 second commercial, Brooks is reunited with the security guard character from his first Kmart commercial, ``Locked Out,'' which aired last November. This time, Brooks is trying to complete a display for his new boxed-set and is told to go home by his old acquaintance. Brooks finishes, but not before trying to switch the ``K'' in Kmart's signage to a ``G'' (for Garth).
The commercial, titled ``Closing Time,'' was filmed from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on April 21-22 at the Northridge Big Kmart store in Los Angeles. That evening, Brooks won his fifth Entertainer of the Year Award at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
WHEN: ``Closing Time'' breaks nationally Sun., May 3 on network prime, country music cable, and spot prime and news television in a two-week flight.
WHY: Garth Brooks is one of America's most popular musicians, selling more than 67 million albums. More than 4 million tickets have been sold to his current live concert tour. Kmart will stock 100,000 of the boxed set copies available May 5 nationwide.
