Garth Brooks Sells Six
Shows In San Antonio
Breaks Previous City-Wide Record Set

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--March 9, 1998--On Saturday, March 7 Garth
Brooks sold over 108,000 tickets for six shows at the Alamodome
Arena in San Antonio. Approximately 25,000 fans waited in the
rain to
purchase tickets to the shows, scheduled for April 14-18. Brooks
will perform two shows (1 p.m. and 8 p.m.) on April 18.
According to Helen Neilson, general manager of Ticketmaster in
San Antonio, ``This is the biggest multiple concert event
we'veever ticketed in the city of San Antonio.''
The city's previous record was set by Paul McCartney, who
performed one show at the Alamodome in May 1993 in front of55,000
fans.
The shows are promoted by Glenn Smith of Glenn Smith Presents in
San Antonio.
In other Garth news, he will perform tomorrow night (March 10) on
the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards (UPN/8 p.m.EST). He will
also perform on TNN's ``Prime Time Country'' 15th anniversary
special on Thursday, March 12 (9 p.m. EST).
