The remixes were realy awful, really dull. So it seemed pointless to just bring it out as a kind of archive thing and I thought we should use the opposrtunity to do something noone's done before. The record company weren't really aware of what we were doing until the whole thing was completed. Lovecats went to be mixed in New York with two supposedly very contemporary remixers - it was fucking dreadful. They managed to make it sound like a UB40 B-side, It was that bad. I put the first one that we got back on and I just sat there for about twenty minutes thinking "What are we doing? What is this?" But as soon as I heard Inbetween Days, I thought it was brilliant - exactly what we would never do as the Cure. (robert)
I actually think it's very good. I've listened to it more than any other Cure album we've ever done because it sounds less like us than anything else and there's no emotional tugging at me when I hear any of the songs, all of the songs on it were less personal to me. This is the record that drunk Cure fans should listen to, it makes you feel really good, which is unusual for us.(robert)
Thanks to: everyone at Fiction and everyone and anyone else who helped with all this!!!
