If you look at the mp3 downloads on Amazon there's a bonus acoustic track of Something for the Rest of Us. It's on the piano and it's beautiful.

I hate how bands would release special, bonus, and deluxe edition. I just wished they do the same for everybody. It makes me less likely to want to buy the regular album now.

Ummm... You already said you were not going to buy the album because it was 'old' and you were too young, hip and fresh for it.  So... I guess it doesn't matter what you like?

I pre-ordered the Deluxe album off iTunes. iTunes has acoustic Home as a bonus. I'll probably get the acoustic SFTROU single from Amazon. It's beautiful on the piano.

I'm saying in general. I am upset with previos goo and non-goo albums that did this. Just make it the same for everybody. I was considering buying the new album, but I don't like this business practice.

I don't plan on buying it at all. Not really liking the songs that much. There's still some hope. I'll decide to buy it after I listen to the whole album. This may be the first album I haven't bought since Jed. I guess nothing last forever...

So now you have your excuse for not buying it? If you want to boycott the multiple editions, just buy the bare-bones version.

You can check my review. What I can say is that objectively, it's a better album than LLI. However, comparing it to aboynamedgoo era, it's totally different and you'll be disapointed if that's what you're looking for. The thing that kept me from buying the album is that they don't have one strong song that can be from aboynamedgoo. I bought the previous albums becuase I loved dizzy, let love in, it's over, and big machine. In this album, there's nothing like that from the past. It's like a totally different new band.

I have mixed feelings. I'm totally impress but sadden that the good I knew is gone, at least from this album. It's kinda like see John doing music with rappers and all tv. Would be impressed, but not the good I fell in love with.

Out of curiosity, do you think this album is sounding worse than LLI?

I typed out a whole thing of my feelings about this album, good and bad, but I deleted it because I'm going to wait until I listen to it for a while. I'll just say that while I like most of what I hear, I sympathize with Pon's feelings about them moving far away from their old sound, yet I will still support them by buying it.

If you haven't bought the album, what did you base your review on?

An illegal download with no intention of buying.  Meaning we really should be ignoring this.

(Yes, I have a 'shared' download from a personal friend.  I also placed a pre-order and have already purchased the album.)

I didn't say I downloaded it..:). I have a right to review songs or movies before ever seeing it..:). Don't make me a bad person either. I bought all their albums since Jed. I walked in the rain for an hour to buy on of their albums.

Um, not saying you downloaded it does not negate the fact that you downloaded it.  You created a thread called 'Something for the Torrent Community' just to discuss when a torrent would leak onto the internet.  Do you think I'm stupid?

I could argue the whole 'have a right to review songs or movies before I buy it' bullshit, but I won't.  You said you would not buy the album before you heard it and after because you're too ~young~ and ~hip~ for it.  And you have no intentions to immediately delete your download of the album so it has certainly moved beyond ~reviewing~ it.

I do not care that you own Jed or walked a mile in the rain for an album.  That does not make you a superfan who entitled to free passes for the next one.  I own every album and own both versions of the first release.  Does that make me even better than you?  Should I expect the band to pay me for their music?

If you were a fan and liked what you heard, you would buy the album.  Or you would at least not take such great pride in announcing to everyone that you are ripping off the band by illegally downloading their music.

Done with you, dude.  Go listen to Justin Beiber or whatever you kids are listening to these days.

Well, like I said, I never said I downloaded the album.

I never said you were stupid.

Yes, I do feel that i'm too young, but never said I was too hip. When the goo's were my age, they were making crazy rock music. How can I listen to soft music, when they couldn't even make soft music back then?

Nobody is being ripped off either. If people like the music, they will buy it. PPL who download it or whatever would have never bought it in the first place. When I first heard goo, I heard it for free and I loved it, and bought the albums. That's how things go! Artists now still sell millions of copy because ppl like it. If artists aren't selling, it has nothing to do with illegal downloading. That's just an excuse!

I'm sure some ppl would download it rather than buy it, but I think the loss is insignificant. If you don't make an album that is appealing to people, they simply won't buy it. There are many artists that sell millions of copies today. It proves that people still buy it! If you're not selling that much, it means ppl don't like it. Sure, there are a lot of ppl that download and don't buy, but those ppl weren't going to buy it regardless, so they don't count.

I made the decision not to buy it because of what I heard on live shows on youtube and on album previews from amazon and bbc. I made the decision to buy "holdmeup" by listening to samples online. Their last 2 albums were available for illegal downloading. I still bought them.

That's faulty reasoning and an idealistic vision. I know for a fact that bands lose sales due to illegal downloading because I know people who admit they would have bought albums but when they could get them for free they chose that instead. And I'm willing to bet that if there was no such thing as illegal downloading, you would have bought this album.

I love the bonus songs that I had no idea about. I want to pre order this one! I probably won't though, just because.

Pon - how did you hear the album then? Since you "didn't download it".
