hahah I totally posted that in the hurt/ heal thread instead of the name change thread.

I don't think it is the official video.

hell no. There's so many fake people who are trying to take advantage of celebrities these days online.

The Goo Goo Dolls posted it on FB, so it can't be fake. I think it is just an alternative until an official video is made with the band.

From last week's IM video, there will be a Home video that the band is in.  It isn't going to be shot until they are done with this current tour (which ends tomorrow, I think?).

This video is somehow linked to the GGDs.  Like Nicole said, the GGDs link to it on their own website, etc.  Also, the director of this video, Devin Sarno, is linked to multiple videos from the GGDs in the past.

I think there are some very pretty images in the video, but I do not like it as a video for Home.

Yeah.. It's kindof weird.

The girl in it looks like every other girl they've used to albums and stuff though.

If that's a fan video, they've got one hell of a video camera and some impressive editing skills.... :P
It's real, it's a recognized director and they've linked it from an official site.

Optimistically there'll be a second video for it (seriously, "pretty teenage girl being bored and looking artsy" is a clich video concept cop-out) but until then I'm not too impressed. It doesn't connect with the song at all.

That's what I am thinking too...I mean aren't the goos in their videos when they make one?

Now, I don't think Home is the song to do this for, and maybe none on the new album will be, but I was thinking how nmf the other day said Goos take themselves too seriously, and how Foo Fighters have many funny music videos...do you think the Goos could ever pull off a funny music video? There You Are was the closest they've come, but it was just them being themselves.

Broadway?

And I think they could, but I agree that it needs to be for an appropriate song.  Like, Broadway actually has very serious content, but it's so upbeat that they could pull off a funny video.

It seems like they're usually playing in all of their videos so that's why I didn't think this one was the official video for Home. The only video I can think of where the guys weren't playing in it was Dizzy, but they were still IN the video. This one they were nowhere to be found.

I don't think I like that they are not in the video. I wanted to see John's facial hair....OMG! That's probably why they're not in the video!! They didn't have time to shave!!

See I would disagree - I think in the video for Broadway they poked fun at themselves, as well as other rockstars...wasnt it basically saying they were all a bunch of fat, balding working men under wigs and stuff?? ;)

(ETA - ignore me, didnt even read the second page to see other people had already pointed that out, doh! Lack of sleep fail...)
