This was posted on AG yesterday and I'm just now getting time to share it here......

Goo Goo Dolls new single �Home� tomorrow, new album August 31st

June 7, 2010    

Goo Goo Dolls will release their ninth album entitled Something For The Rest Of Us on August 31st, and will release new single �Home� tomorrow June 8th in iTunes. The album is produced by Tim Palmer and is the first Goo Goo Dolls record since 2006. According to lead singer Johnny Rzeznik, �I wanted some of the material on this album to address the disillusionment of the difficult period we live in; I wanted to give a voice to the emotional uncertainty that accompanies hard times. �So many people are struggling to keep it together through tough economic conditions and two wars that seem to have no end in sight. The ones who bear the brunt of these burdens are everyday people. That�s who I want to speak to.�

In the mean time, Goo Goo Dolls are currently on a U.S. tour which will run through August.

There's a lot of s-es in this album. Also, several of the titles remind me of other song titles. Disturbing.

Exciting to get a list, though!

LOL! Yeah, there's aways something with names and titles with the goos. For example, people use to ask "how come all of the title of your hits only one word"? lol.

I don't hate it too too much if it's real. �I can handle that more than Hey Ya and the threatened song titles 'Hot Rock' and 'Tiffiny'. �

"Hey Ya" is both the sequel to "Hey" and the prequel to "Hey Ya'll", a country song.

What I really miss are the choruses where the voice overlaps each other. Examples are long way down, stop the world.

Definitely miss the guitar solos.

I really, really, really hope Notbroken is a typo. Because otherwise I may have to deface my CD when I buy it, to satisfy my inner spelling -and-grammar pedant....

Thirded on the guitar solo bit. The one in "Home" is weak and kinda awkward... it lacks a good melody. It kinda makes me feel like he's downplaying his abilities as a guitarist. We know you can play a good solo, Rzeznik!

I can't really think of any strong ones since DUTG either... :-/

Yeah. Well, John is a great guitarist! Some of the most beautiful tunings I have heard from him - I honestly don't know how he comes up with them! :)

For some reason I am just realizing now that "Something for the rest of us" is actually a song title too. Kindof embarassing..
