Thanks for posting. I've been meaning to do it all day and haven't had a chance.

Any political aspirations ::) I hate how all famous people must now get into politics. First it wasn't good enough to just act or just sing, but you have to do both now (especially if you're a child star), and now you have to run for Senate or something, too. There's a reason people are experts at certain things and not everything. I'm not saying stars should stay out of politics, cuz there have been some good examples, but they shouldn't feel pressured into it or do it because it's the newest trend. It should be a legitimate passion and a knowledgeable endeavor.

:soapbox:

Yeah, I totally agree.  They should get into politics if they have a real interest in it, not because it's the latest hip thing to do, or cause it'll look good on the ol' resume.

I don't think they asked him about politics because it's something artists "must get into" these days -- I think they asked since Robby's been pretty vocal about his political views on his myspace, twitter, etc. and clearly has strong feelings about a number of issues. Obviously that doesn't equate with wanting to run for office though, and I still think it's a really silly question! But I can see there being a legitimate reason for asking other than some kind of presumed social obligation.

(Then again I also thought the music-is-art question was kinda dumb but I let it slip since apparently there are some segments of the population who haven't quite come to grips with that concept yet. Sigh.)
