As most of you know June is when we do our yearly banner contest. We've had the sage green with red and black color scheme for a couple of years now. So what I want to know is ....

1. Do you still like the green, red and black color scheme?
2. Do you want a new color scheme?
3. If you'd like a new color scheme, do you have any ideas? So far I can't think of any other colors I like better than this. We've done purple in the past and it wasn't my favorite. I've seen blue and it's okay. I don't know ... I'm stumped I guess.

I need to know this because if everyone wants a change I'll do it before the banner contest so we can make our banners to match.

So what do you think?

I don't mind the current color scheme, but a change would be fine, too. I'm not a person who can come up with color schemes though.

My only preference, and you've heard it before, is that the text area stays with a light background and dark type. The other way is hard on my eyes. :-/

I'm not here for long so this scheme doesn't look "old" to me, but I'm never against a change!

Maybe blue would be great =)

I just made a new design for my journal with the Goos, so now i'm ready for the banner contest x)

I definitely don't mind the scheme, but I'd prefer the background as one colour instead of a pattern. It kind of distracts me, although the roses aren't bad. Maybe that's just me, though.

The sage green is comfortable to look at, and it compliments the red. I'd say stick with it if you don't have any better ideas ~~(purple sounds awful)~~.

The purple wasn't too bad but it was around here for a long, long, long time. I did receive many thanks from the guys around here when I changed it to what it is now. Might I add that I was not the Admin when it was purple :-*

I think the sage is calming too. I just wasn't sure if people were starting to get tired of it like we all did with the purple. I'm okay keeping it like this if everyone likes it.

No, I like the sage too. It's different from the black/red/white combo that so many other sites have. Blue could be nice if you feel like changing it up though!

OMG....I love that Nicole. You've got me feeling all nostalgic now. I had forgotten about the blue scheme. It was here right around the time I joined and then it changed to purple.

It did make me a little sad to see all the people on the site at one time. This place was so hoppin' when I first joined. It makes me wonder where everyone is now?

The color combo looks very good to me.

Haaaa. It made me nostalgic too and I went hunting for a link to the message boards before this one. I ended up on the 96-98 newsgroup archive, which had someone claiming the Goos would crash and burn on their next album (pre-Iris) and asking "what's an mp3"?.

As for all of the members, I guess it's due to the fact there are more online options now and the "OMG IM THE HUGEST BEST FAN EVAR!!!1111!ONE!1" crowd has thinned out and moved on to new things now that the Goos aren't as popular.

thanks for the link to the old sites...i had forgotten all the colors! of course i'm sure a few of us can remember when there were no colors and it was just post on top of post.

I think the green/red/black color scheme is nice. It seems to be the common theme with all the major Goo sites. Change would be nice too, but I can't really think of a more eye-pleasing color than the current green.

I remember the temporary Let Love In website was a nice light teal with red, that wouldn't be bad either. Maybe a light (or dark) teal background, a light gray backdrop to the text area, with some red outlines or something for a different look.

Actually, when I think about it, I would be able to live with any kind of colour scheme as long as the background is dark. Found out while I browsed through the older versions.

Thanks for your opinions everyone. It sounds like most of you like it as is but wouldn't mind if I tried a blue theme either. Thanks for your input. I consider this everyone's board so I really do value your ideas.

Very cute. I went to that meez site and created one. But then when I went to save it, it requested that I create a profile and I didn't feel like creating one. I already have more IDs and passwords than I need.

I know exactly what you mean. I didn't want to do it either but after working so hard on it I said 'what the hell' and did it. My friend and I were both making one late one night for our IM avatars. The funny thing behind the whole story is that my friend really didn't know what IMing was but her daughter's been asking to IM school friends. So I helped her set up an account and educated her on all things IM. So then she found out about the Meez and talked me into making one. And now she and I IM more than our kids do.....lol And, she's that one friend I already talk to on the phone at least once a day. :P
