Title: 2008 Tour
Post by djgeneral on Feb 17th, 2008, 12:34pm
Has anyone heard anything? Do we think it will happen?

I'm gonna guess .... doubtful. I don't think they've even started writing the new album yet. I'm gonna guess next Spring. Anyone else?

I'm figuring on maybe a short winter tour to promote the album coming out...and then a full blown one for next spring/summer once it's actually released.  Either way, I'm not holding my breath on getting to see them until sometime next summer, if I'm lucky.

They claim they'll get the album out in June, and they would, doubtless, go on tour shortly following that. However, they also said that Let Love In was gonna be out in winer '05, and that their studio would be finished in September. I'm not gonna keep my hopes up.

Pros:
- About an hour and a half from me and I do love a nice drive on a summer day

Cons:
- Can't say I've ever thought "Gee, I want to go to Salamanca!"
- Memories of the last WNY casino show
- Ticket prices are guaranteed to be way overpriced

Closing thoughts:
WTF, Salamanca?!

Woohoooo!  Salamanca!  It's only about an hour from me!  And they've got a lot of great antique shops in Salamanca.  Can't say I've ever been to the casino there (no desire to go, really), but I'd be up for a Goo show.   :nanner:

Not to put a damper on it (pun intended), but since this is the GOOs and it'll be August, there is sure to be a big-a$$ thunder storm. Don't forget your umbrella, ella, ella.

OK, I know this rates as one of the worst posts ever, but I'm bored and it's cold, and mostly I'm just jealous that I won't be going.

Well, thanks for shattering my hopes, Denise!

August is pretty safe.  July and December seem to be the Goo/WNY/natural disaster hot months.

Woot! I'll be back in PA by then! And I convinced m mom to take me to Cleveland last year, I bet I can make her take me anywhere within a day's drive this year (especially because of what she's putting me through at the moment--Don't ask, just suffice to say, I've never been this angry at someone)
*really has no idea how far Salamanca is from Manheim XD*

Oh, I was only joshing. I'm sure it'll be a beautiful, sunny and somewhat cool summer day. How's that?

Cool?  In August?  In WNY?  Doubtful.

Try hot and humid.  Wickedly humid.   :(

Which is just as well.  Considering what analysts are predicting for gas prices by summer, who will be able to mow it anyway?  >:(

A push reel mower is great, if you have a lawn the size of a postage stamp.  But, uhhh, you've seen my lawn!   :o

Maybe I'll just do what the University of Buffalo does.  Post a sign that says 'Natural Growth Regeneration Area' and leave it unmowed all summer long.  8)

I like it!

PS: and my lawn is the size of a postage stamp.

(Pretty pitiful that in this thread where we're supposed to be talking up a tour, we are discussing lawn-mowing tactics.)

The chemical engineer/ should-be-environmentalist in me is pleased by the website, but as the daughter of a person who has made a nice living selling commercial lawn equipment, I'm conflicted.  :-/

Having two zero-turn rider mowers and racing them in the summer probably doesn't help anything, does it?  :D

The environmentalist in me says, "Are they hybrids?"
:P

How 'bout that tour?

I got it: The Lawnmower Tour"
Sponsored by John Deere.
We all get to wear hats.

"Do you know why John Deere mowers are green?  To hide in the grass from the REAL mowers."

I've been brainwashed against John Deere too long to support a John Deere tour.  :D

Ah. One of the many downsides of never seeing them pre-Brad-and-Korel (the top of which being, I've never sen them without Brad) is that I'm not terribly familiar with Greg or Jason. *tear*
