Title: The Goo Goo Dolls and The NGAB
Post by the frosty o on Dec 12th, 2007, 9:11am
According to Robby's myspace blog, the Goo Goo Dolls are going to be performing on this week's episode of The Next Great American Band.  Note that this week the show airs at 9 PM ET now, as it switched places with Don't Forget The Lyrics.

I think I'll dv-r this ep. Just because I want to see their performance. To be honest, I haven't been watching the NGAB, it's not the kind of reality show I can get into and like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not degrading the show in any way either, I just can't watch it.

Anyways I think I'll be going out Friday night so I'll have to dv-r it. :)

Thanks for posting this Michael.

I was wondering if there would be a performance on this show. It's definitely good publicity. Now the question is .... what will they play? Nicole....you seem to be right lately....what do you think?

Thanks Michael.

Well, John said the band wouldn't perform on the show, so it was only a matter of time before it happened... I hope when John performs he is fully aware of the criticism he doled out. I also hope their own sound guys get to handle it, because NGAB's sound is usually awful.

In happier news, yay for a new post by Robby.

EDIT for Shannon: I really don't know for this one. They said they'd promote FTS, but it seems like a bad idea to play a 'brand new' song for the first time on the show. And we all know they can't do Iris unless John plans on hitting all the notes... So I don't know. I'll say FTS or SWY.

(or BITL, which I keep forgetting exists)

I was thinking FTS too but you're right about them promoting it for the first time. It's the holidays ... maybe BD. Or there's always the crowd pleasing Slide.

I think it's going to be Slide.

I don't believe in Photoshop when I have Paint.

But it won't happen.  Because I say Slide will not be performed.

It would be pretty fabulous.  I have the porch roof under my window, so the tv would have to bounce off the roof and onto the ground, and it would probably take some icicle lights with it and possibly an inflatable penguin.

I could just ask for a new tv for Christmas, right?

I think we need a picture of the inflatable penguin.

Well, I guess I don't get to see you launch your TV out the window since they are performing Broadway on next week's finale. :)

Dammit, I hate when Drew is right. :D

I ruled Broadway out because it's not a tv-friendly length with the new extended instrumental, but it is a safe choice since John can always hit the notes in it.

Don't worry.  Slide will continue to be beaten to death in the future, and my tv will be waiting.
