Post by nmf009 on Nov 28th, 2007, 10:56pm
No idea how legit this is, as it isn't listed at the official site, so if you're interested, maybe call Guitar Center.

http://mickieszoo.blogspot.com/2007/11/gibson-to-release-robot-guitar.html

WHO: Johnny Rzeznik, lead singer and guitarist for the multi-platinum, GRAMMY nominated alternative rock band The Goo Goo Dolls and the newest member of Gibson USAs innovative line of electric guitars, The Robot Guitar.

WHAT: Rzeznik, a Gibson Guitar player, will demonstrate to the press and general public how Gibsons new Robot Guitar makes tuning almost a completely hands-free function of the guitar. Rzeznik, whose songs with the Goo Goo Dolls often use alternative tuning, has already fallen in love with Gibsons latest product and will be a perfect fit for this demonstration.

WHERE: Hollywood Guitar Center
7425 Sunset Blvd.

WHEN: Monday, December 3, 2007
5:00 PM Press Demo and Q&A
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public

And... if someone would like to steal one of those guitars for me, I'd appreciate it because it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I don't even play guitar.  :D

Hmm, Damage may be out of a job soon. No more need to have someone hand you a different guitar for every song.

John said Damage helps him create some of his tunings, so maybe he will still be useful. :-/

Yeah, I was being flip. I'm sure Damage does a lot more than just hand over the guitars.

I'd imagine you could get a few more guitars if you made a private negotiation with the recipient and cut out the black market middle man.  And the price is probably through the roof for a rare blood type.

Um, thanks for the info, but I think I'll hold onto both of my kidneys as long as I can.   ;)
