Title: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by googoofan5 on Nov 13th, 2007, 9:23pm Awhile ago, before the release of Gutterflower, AOL did a first listen in which the band goes through each song and talks about what they are about, original names, etc. I have since lost it and was wondering if anyone here still had the file that they could send me (I originally recorded it online myself). Anyone able to help? |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by Pondering My Fate on Nov 13th, 2007, 11:10pm I have the promo disc at home but won't be able to get it until next week. If nobody else has it on hand, I can probably rip it for you then :) |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by nmf009 on Nov 13th, 2007, 11:12pm I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't have it. I didn't learn how to rip audio until a couple months after that. I did a search of the 'big' traders who would likely have it and only came up with two. One of those two disappeared a couple years ago and the other is a pay site that I refuse to advertise (and I'll assume you don't really want anyways). Further info to anyone who thinks they might have it: It will either be dated 2/28/02 or April 02. The host/interviewer is Max Tolkoff (or the last Modern Rock Live guy). Edit: Too slow! Please please please upload it when you get the chance. :D |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by Shannon on Nov 14th, 2007, 6:25am I may have it too. I have to look through all the CDs in my car. Also, it may be one that refuses to play now. But let me look and see and I'll get back to you. |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by Shannon on Nov 14th, 2007, 3:39pm I looked through all my stuff and can't find it. I'm pretty sure now that it wouldn't play anymore. I know I had it though. I'll keep looking. |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by googoofan5 on Nov 16th, 2007, 10:52am LOL, seems like everyone is having the same problem. Well, if anyone does find it, please let me know. I would also be willing to pay for postage if it needs to be mailed out. Thanks for looking everyone! |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by DWG on Nov 16th, 2007, 4:39pm Not to worry. I just checked, and Pondering has it right here. She's the techno-savvy one, so she'll get it to you folks when she gets back home. |

This is a polite bump. I know you are probably taking finals and want to rip your hair out and in no way do I expect anything immediately. But just in case you have brought the cd to school, this is a polite bump to prevent you from forgetting to bring it home for your break. |

I remember listening to this when it first came out. We only had the family computer and it was a pretty challenging feat to get 45 continuous minutes on dial up to listen to this interview while my sisters tried to kick me off. I'm sad now. I miss when they spoke of GF fondly. I miss when I loved almost everything the band did. I even miss Max Tolkoff. |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by googoofan5 on Dec 23rd, 2007, 4:45pm hey, thanks for actually pulling through with my request!!!! I would like to post something to give back to what you posted. I've already posted the superstar carwash demo reel, so I will post possibly the last thing I have that no one else does. I will be posting "Two Days in February" off of the vinyl record with the extended dedication before the song is played. I just have to hook up my vinyl player to my computer and will record it. I should have it up by tomorrow. Thanks again!!!!! This helps so much since I lost my copy, my friend has really been wanting to listen to this. |

Title: Re: Gutterflower AOL First Listen Post by Saz_Goo on Jan 19th, 2008, 12:19pm Wow, I didn't even know the Goos did this for GF. I was in hospital that year from Feb-June (yeah, a hellishly long time :P) and I missed all the promos, interviews etc. for Gutterflower. Along with the one gig they played in London then. :-/ Anyways, I wanted to say thanks for posting this up! It brought back tons of memories, I was waiting in agony for that CD and it was all I could have hoped for, it made that part of 2002 much, much more bearable. nmf, I ditto your sentiments, it was nice to hear the band talk about GF with fondness and excitement. Dammit, I was excited about GF!! Sigh. But thanks for posting it Pondering, it was great to listen to that. *ramble ramble, memory lane...* |
