Title: Goo Goo Dolls ROCK for Hillary review!
Post by Shannon on Oct 11th, 2007, 7:09pm
I'm posting this on behalf of Kate who's not a member here but wanted to give her review from last night.......

Kate here!

You guys may not know me, but we do have something in common, THE GOO GOO DOLLS!
I was there Wednesday evening and took some up-close photos it was awesome... they let people walk right up to the front of the stage i was 10 feet away from, the band...if that much..you could see up johns nose if you wanted to =P The atmosphere was really personal, felt like being at a soundcheck.

***review below...&...photos to follow up soon!...***

Cheers!

Kate

Wednesday's Review

They played , Better Days, Slide, Broadway, & Iris. No one was standing up because it wasn't a Goo crowed more of a political crowd, hehe. I stood up and then motioned for everyone to stand up with lots of energy and was singing with the guys and the next thing I knew the whole room started to stand one by one... it was really powerful! Hillary said she loves the Goo Goo Dolls who are from her home state New York and gave the notion that her favorite song that meant most was Better Days because if you elect her that's what she promises to do. And the guy who was giving the introductions to each speaker ,the Wellesley chorus, and the goo goo dolls said that they were americas greatest rock band..so when john come over to the mic a few minutes later he said i am not a good public speaker and laughed and then joked that he paid 200 dollars for that introduction , cash only nothing else accepted, and then laughed again. There was an older couple in their 60s-70s up in the 1st balcony who were dancing and jamming to the entire set, it was funny. John looked cool as a cucumber, Robby looked like he was overwhelmed but having fun, and poor Mike looked exhausted. The event was originally advertised here as just John Rzeznik so I think the entire band's presence was a last minute decision but a great surprise. I will send pics as soon as I get them developed! =)

Feel free to ask any questions I will answer as best I can.

Kate
