I definitely think that John sounds country cuz his accent and singing style is very similar to Hannah Montana's...haha...expecially the chorus.

What ya think?

Pon, you crazy.  :D

Hannah (Miley) has a southern accent and her dad is a country singer, so I think that has a lot to do with her singing accent.  And her singing style is also known as the "lip synch".

I did have fun imagining John singing "I'm a lucky girl" though...

My kids watch Hannah Montana all the time.....which means I do as well. I agree with Nicole. Miley and her family are from Nashville and have a distinct southern accent. I don't think John sounds anything like her singing style.

....?
Dude, Johnny is from New York. The North East. Doesn't sound country at all, and I hope he never does. *shudders*

I understand where people get the country thing from, there is sometimes a country edge to his voice, maybe not full on, but kinda country-rock...I always think of Broadway as kinda country-rockish...please don't shoot me.

I hear it too, in Broadway, Think About Me, and I Don't Want to Know.  And I think he'd sound good singing a country song.  It's slight, not a full-on twang.  But that does not mean I ever want the Goos to cross into that genre.

Oh, Drew.  Much like Nicole, I sometimes fear you're too unbelievably awesome to be real.

That "Feel the Cactus" is even better than the latest Bon Jovi crap, er, stuff.

I'm glad some of you are hearing what i'm hearing. I know that they are from different worlds and they don't talk alike, but I think when John sings, he's got some country in him and much of it sounds just like Hanna Montana. I mean, to me, I rarely hear any rocker that sounds like John. It's not like u put on teeny bopper music or rap and u hear the same thing. I think part of the reason why he's so different is becuz of his country sound. I honestly don't know where he got it from, just natural.

Well, red o, it unfortunately doesn't matter what you want because remember that they already announced the new cd will be country, and Mike slipped us a few of the lyrics:

Cant Let It Go Part 2 The More Country Version

You said you werent a pony
But youd sing a song for me
But now its well past after dawn
And half this land aint big enough
For the both of you and me
Its best that you be moving on

I just want to be free
And get away from this city
And roam out on the plains

I was your cowboy
And you were my steer
And now that youre fat now
Come trot over here
So you can be slaughtered
And become my meal
But somehow I cant let you go
Cant let it go

Half the plains are sleeping while
I swim in this stream
I close my eyes and then youre gone
Well maybe my herding skills
Werent as good as they should be
Its best that I be moving on

I just want to be free
And get away from this city
And raise a big cow farm

I was your cowboy
And you were my steer
And now that youre fat now
Come trot over here
So you can be slaughtered
And become my meal
But somehow I cant let you go
Cant let it go

Feel The Cactus

I lie awake tonight
Under the starry sky
And all I remember now is what I feel
Blood remains
Trickling down my body
I thought I would find fun
But instead I found pain

Sad like a wounded child
Scraping his skin on the road
It seemed like a good thing to do
But I was insane
Now there remains
Spines protruding from my flesh
Not a soul to help
Me in this desert plain

I learned if you feel the cactus
You better have some practice
In making a tourniquet
And tending to wounds
And if you feel the cactus
Know now that you will regret this
Theres nothing more on this matter
For me to say

I dont know why I did it
Only know that I did
And its clear to me now
Ive got minutes to live
Ive been so lost for so long
And I thought that it could be my friend
Cuz Im drowning in the boredom of no company
As Im roaming the desert Ive got no one to see
Then I spotted the cactus and thought that we
Belonged in the end
But it remains
A dangerous plant that took my life today

And if you feel the cactus
You better have some practice
In making a tourniquet
And tending to wounds
And if you feel the cactus
Know now that you will regret this
When Im gone
It will remain

Why did I hold on?
Why did I hold on?
Why did I hold on?
Why did I hold on?
Why did I hold on?

Ill pass away tonight
A cactus just made me die

*headdesk* You're a very bad person, but I have to say I agree whole-heartedly with this......
