New Found Glory posted their cover of "Iris" on myspace. Thoughts?
I personally love it, and think they did a great job.

Ha ha ha ha. Except the singer isn't actually in the band, he's a guest singer, so probably not.

I applaud them for attempting that song, but people just have to realize they can't cover it. Every cover I've heard sounds off, like the chorus is being sung wrong. Plus, in this version, they took out the dynamics of the instruments and the gritty vocals that made the song, at least to me.

And New Found Glory is actually playing Buffalo tonight. I wonder if Iris will be played (no idea how, seeing as the singer isn't with them) and what the reception will be.

Actually, I kind of like it.
I'm a little pissed, because they totally stole my idea for an electric version of Iris...
But y'know what? I would do it better anyway. XD
Anyway, I think I like it.

I'm usually a curiosity-killed-the-cat kind of person, but... but... I can't even bring myself to click on that, haha.
I died a little bit inside when I read the title and I don't even care for Iris all that much these days. :-X

My first thought was "Why?"...haha. Then when I listened to it...I was like "hmmm...not bad at all". This song can definitely stand on its own.

Okay, I didn't listen to the entire thing, but it actually isn't as terrible as I was expecting. Probably because they got a guest vocalist (I cringe just thinking about their lead singer's voice.)

At least it's more inspired than the Ronan Whateverhisnamewas version.

They put a punkish tune to it I guess...

To be honest Shannon, I don't really like it....It's not the same, some people are able to do great covers, but this just isn't my thing.

Check out Randy Scott Howell's tattoo site. He's the one who tattooed the Goos. On page 5 of the gallery , 5th tattoo down the column, he has a full color version of the Gutterflower.

Wow :DThat's a cool site, thanks Shannon. It looks pretty good as a tattoo, although I'd probably get it done in just black and have it as more of a line drawing with shading if that makes sense. ???

Although the more I look at this full colour version the more I like it.

Ok....I got up the courage to listen to it. I don't hate the faster style. It's actually kind of rockin'. But....I don't like the singer's voice. It's kind of nasaly in a little boy, annoying kind of way.

I don't like the voice either. It's not bad, though. I think Clay Aiken did the worst Iris cover, his was terrible and his voice is annoying.

Ya know..I'm not one to really listen to New Found Glory but they definitely didn't butcher the song..They kept the main guitar riffs-didn't try to alter it up too much..overall it's not a bad cover..It's not exactly like the original-so it's still got the creativity without deviating from the sheer brillance of the song itself..ya know..I kinda like it...
