Title: Re: Quadruple Platinum? Post by Hercules on Jul 28th, 2007, 5:10pm DUTG sold more than four million copies worldwide (three million copies in the US) according to a WBR press release in 2001. According to the RIAA's site, it hasn't reached quadruple platinum yet. According to a Billboard article in 2006, Gutterflower had sold over 680,000 copies in the US for Gold status. http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumdata.php?table=SEARCH http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/search/google/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002115046 |

Title: Re: Quadruple Platinum? Post by djgeneral on Jul 28th, 2007, 5:26pm Let Love In is certified GOLD for SHIPPED copies, which is all Billboard counts. They don't go by sales. So as in sales, it has sold around 400,000 in the US with the re-release DVD package. |

Yeah it is kinda depressing, but then again, those stats are about a year out of date. So they could've broken platinum for Gutterflower and quadruple platinum for DUTG in theory. I'll do some more Google searching when I have more time and see if I can dig up any more info. |

Title: Re: Quadruple Platinum? Post by djgeneral on Jul 28th, 2007, 5:56pm The last day Goo Goo Dolls were on the Billboard 200 list was for the March 17th chart of this year. Their total for the Let Love In CD was 400,649. Over twelve weeks later, the most they could've sold since then would be around 60,000 copies...(which of course didn't happen, but if it did, it would give them 461,000 sold in the US.) I would say a more likely number is around 420,000 in the US and it is for sure over 500,000 world wide. Source: Billboard |
