"Before It's Too Late"

Played on Star 98.7 this morning.

EDIT:

EDIT #2:  Apparently someone else got a slap on the wrist for youtubing the whole song, so I've killed mine before I get a message.  Hopefully everyone got a chance to hear it.  And Star 98.7 has been playing it on the hour all day if you missed it.  :-/

Ooohhhh this is the Transformer song!!!!!

I thought it was called Fiction?

Nicole....you're just the BEST for giving us a taste of this.

It's so nice to have new Goo. What does everyone think? I need to listen to it a couple times before I can form a complete opinion. But I like the groove of it.

I'm going to repeat what Nicole said as well. Please do not repost this music link on another site. It's fine if you want to link to the board. However, please don't download it and reupload it on another site.

"Name Change", I guess.

I'm still undecided.

It's definitely not a rockin' song....definitely a love song. I've listened to it 3 times now. So far I like it. I don't think his voice sounds horrible at all. I think it sounds raspy in a sexy kind of way.

Thanks for the lyrics Drew. I was just thinking I already really like them. It seems like they'll fit perfectly for the movie.

Drew, I'm PMing you the rest of the song so you can finish the lyrics.  There's a little middle part and then the chorus 2x more or so.

I especially love your edits ;) "2nd-4th impressions " ...lol

I think its amazing, much better than anything of "let love in" It has a goo sound to it.

I actually like this song. :)

It's new, it's something I'm not used to but it's really good.

I can't wait until the soundtrack comes out.

I don't like the new name change though, I think it should've been "Fiction".

Thanks Nicole for the taste!

HEY! They're not going to play that on tour are they??

I think this is a radio edit. The majority of their songs have 2 verses before the first chorus and this only has one. I bet the album version has another verse in the beginning. It just seems too short to me. There might even be an instrumental interlude on the album version.

Radio edit perhaps.  Extra verse?  Not likely.  The whole song comes in at just over 3 minutes.  There would be room to include another verse if there was one (As opposed to Iris, where the radio edit cut out a chorus because the song was 5 minutes long)

Thanks for posting this Nicole. You rock.

The song...not-so-much.
I don't like it. I'm too old for anything this slow in tempo.
Life's too short.

I'm with Drew and DWG. don't like it - at least not yet, maybe it'll grow on me.

I'm tired of the slow songs...I need some new GOO that rocks.

I like it better after listening to it a few times.  I like the melody, I do wish the tempo were a little faster in the verses, though.

Oh, and I think I like the new name "Before It's Too Late" :)

It's alright.  :-/ I kinda have the same feeling as everyone else.  Maybe it'll grow on me.
Thanks for posting Nicole!

Yeah, the first time I heard it I thought it was okay, but I've been listening to it over and over and I love it now, especially the lyrics. :)

This song is amazing. I can't beleive it's getting all this negative feedback. It gives me chills - amazing.

Does anyone else SO think this was the one that was intended for the SpiderMan 3 soundtrack? I thought that before, but now I can hear it.

new goo is good goo after the week i've had.

After a nice drive with this on replay, I've decided that it sounds like I'm Still Here with the lyrics from Stay With You.  I don't violently hate it, but it'll never rank as one of my favorite songs.  I'm sure I'll like it a bit more one I have a nice clean version of the song.

Wow, thanks for recording it and putting it up Nicole!!

First thought is, I like it - not hugely but first listen, it sounds like a fairly decent ballad and probably has "hit" written all over it... The lyrics are pretty decent, all in all, better than I expected, so yay!  ;D

Second thought - is he actually going to pull off singing this song live?! It's got a pretty high chorus... :-/

Third thought - well if people thought Edwin McCain's "I'll Be " was a Goo song before, I think "Before it's Too Late" will confuse them even more; to me it definitely has echoes of "I'll Be" in the chorus... anyone else hearing that or are my ears going crazy?!

I noticed you took the link down. I had a feeling it was because of the other person. Yours probably would have been fine because it was only a partial part of it. That dude put up the whole song .... hello copywrite! I'm not surprised he was asked to take it down. Too bad he ultimately ended up ruining it for those who still haven't heard it. Hopefully Star 98.7 will continue to play it.

I only got to hear the clip they have up on AG....from what I heard, it's okay.  I'd like to hear the whole thing before I make my decision as to if I really like it or not.

Yeah, I don't mean to be messing with you guys.  I mean, I like screwing with people, but not you.  :D  I just don't feel like being on anyone's radar.

I really don't see why that guy got in trouble though.  Do a youtube search and you'll see a ton of full songs put to collages or just a plain screen.  Don't see what the difference is really.  Except it's a new song... The only thing I think he did wrong was actually label the song correctly so someone could find it...

I probably would have kept the link up if it was only posted here.  But since at least 4 other sites posted the direct link (without even an aknowledgement, thanks), I don't really have a choice...

But if you're in the US, you can stream Star 98.7.  They've been playing it on heavy rotation.

His other big mistake was that he posted it on the IM. I mean that's the official site. They have to strictly abide by the rules there. I'm sure that link was found by someone from the IM. And, like you said it's new and hasn't even been released yet.

Have they been playing it on Star 98.7 today? I had it on earlier but gave up.

I also noticed that no one gave you credit for the audio :-/  I think that's one of my biggest pet peeves.

I don't want or expect a "I found this clip, made by Nicole, because she's so amazingly awesome".  But a simple "Hey, found this on WOG" is reasonable.  The blatant lie "I just found this on youtube" makes me want to explode, because no seach in the world on youtube would bring up my clip.  I don't name things on youtube... Grrr.  Not the first time, won't be the last..

Back on topic.  I listened to the song a couple more times in the car today.  I'm liking it more.  I don't even remember what it's like to like a new Goo song these days...

His voice is really awesome. I wouldn't say it's the best song in the world, but the voice is simply amazing. Reminds me of how drunk he sounded like the mid 90s.

First off, is it bogus that I'm quoting myself? LOL...

Anyway, I've listened to it a few more times. I went from not liking it to hating it. Ugh, John's voice sounds so strained, it hurts my ears to listen to him sing this song. This is really upsetting to me, because John's voice was always my favorite thing about the band.

Am I the only person who thinks the lyrics are really, reaaaalllyyy clich? :-/ That was the first thing that struck me after "huh, the vocals are weird."

Overall I still can't make heads or tails of it. I don't hate it like I do a lot of the LLI songs, but I'm not growing more fond of it either. Must admit I'm very curious how it fits in with the movie.
