Colbie Caillat debut album ready for July 17 bow

THE SKINNY: Universal Republic Records has announced the signing of self-launched singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat, whose rise to prominence as the #1 unsigned artist on the popular MySpace site has been largely due to her refreshing sense of understatement.  Caillat�s debut album COCO is set for a July l7th release. The newcomer was just tapped to open for the Goo Goo Dolls summer tour beginning June l5 (see below for dates).

The songs on COCO mirror Caillat�s low-key, refreshing style, influenced by her upbringing in Malibu and Hawaii. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac�s legendary RUMOURS and TUSK albums and later ran his own record label. The first single from the CD is �Bubbly�, which goes to radio in May.

Rolling Stone highlighted her as one of the top female artists on MySpace, where her number of "friends" swelled to more than 100,000.  Her profile has been visited over 3 million times, and she has more than l0 million plays. She�s currently averaging 50,000 + a day.

Good question. I don't know. My best guess in order is ... Colbie Caillat, Lifehouse and then the Goos. It's been said in several articles that Lifehouse is opening for the Goos. Colbie Caillat is probably a pre-opening act.

I hope they aren't co-headlining. The radio here has been advertising it as if they're co-headlining.
Regardless, with three bands I'm sure the Goo Goo Dolls' setlist will be shorter than previous shows.  :-/

So this isn't like when CC and GGD toured together? The Goo Goo Dolls are the main act?

I'm excited to see Lifehouse, they have great songs!

What kind of music does Colbie Caillat sing, like what kind of genre?

She's very good. I've always really liked her song "Realize"

Just got home from seein' her at a restaurant about 20 minutes away from my house..and she was AMAZING..this girl's voice is incredible..can't wait to see her again in ATL and P-cola! lol
