Title: Oneida Casino pix- FRONT ROW (Hope it works!)
Post by YoursGOOLY on Jul 19th, 2006, 7:34pm
Hi,
Here are some of my photos from the Oneida Casino this past Monday...
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v694/UrbanGooGirl/Goo%20Goo%20Dolls%207-17-06/

I hope this works. This is all new to me... :dunno:

The show was AWESOME!!! It so made up for the Summerfest fiasco the week before. The only bad thing having the shows so close together is the "post-concert depression" is amplified by 2! :'(

Enjoy,
Melissa

EDIT: Thanks for your patience everyone. Please say this works?!  :embarrass:

It asks for a password.   :(

I think there's a way to make an album public to everyone.

The link works great. I see you figured it out without my help. But it's asking me for a password too. Hurry back. I can't wait to see them.

Yup, works now.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Edit*  While in a thread for fabulous pictures... Anyone wanna give photo taking advice?  I have a digital camera that I'm considering smuggling in but I always get lame pictures.  Is flash used or no flash (I'm not in the first 10 rows or whatever, so I'm not concerned with blinding anyone)?  And, has anyone compared using 'regular' or 'action' settings?

I smuggled mine in, too. (and a camera phone and a disposable) There was NO way I was going to give up on this photo op. --> Can u say "spaz?" LOL  ::) I was "warned" by security to not use the flash. I have not had GOO-d luck with 'action' settings. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Have a great time at the show. We will be anxious to see/hear about it!  ;D

Oh geez.  I forgot I had a phone with a camera.  Do they really hassle you about camera phones?  Because I can't seem to successfully photograph a wall with my camera phone.  Maybe I should leave the phone in the car.  It's not like I plan on using it at the concert in another country.

Thanks for the advice.  I'll skip the action setting.  Maybe I should just record video for 15 minutes and freeze frames.  Or maybe I should just hand the camera to my sister and make her be photographer while I just watch the show.  :D

And I totally don't want to know how you managed to smuggle in 3 contraband items.   :D

I have a Canon digital camera. It has a 10x optical zoom. I usually keep the flash off.....I hate flash on digital cameras because it slows them down. I usually set it to the P setting which allows the camera to set the aperature and shutter according to the lighting at the time. If a show is indoors and dark I usually set my ISO to 400 ... that's the highest on my camera...if you have higher even better. But an outdoor show an ISO of 100-200 should be good. As it gets darker I often have to fiddle with the exposure levels a bit by taking some light out to accomodate the spotlight. If I want to get good action shots I press the shutter down half way to focus and once the subject is where I want it just finish the shot. I rarely getting blurry pictures this way.

When I have my camera set up like this I usually get awesome shots. I've become quite good in my experience of Keith Urban concerts. I've just been waiting for a Goo show to use this camera.

They didn't really say anything about the camera phone. It was my "back-up" if they hassled me about the 2 other cameras...  ;)

I do notice that (when I am) taking photos, it "interferes" with the concert experience (for me). I am usually fiddling with it trying to zoom or whatever... I should just enjoy the show.  :shakehead:

Although they said cameras were not allowed, enough people had them. Believe me, I learned my lesson the hard way. I used to not bring mine and get SO mad when the person next to me was snappin' away...Security just asked that I not take a bunch of pix in a row (with the flash).  :Eva: I suppose it is especially "blinding" from the 1st row. I want the  camera Gail uses!

Shannon-
Can't wait to hear ALLLLL about your show.
