I just watched the guys on Leno and that was freakin' FANTASTIC!!! Not only did they look great but they sounded awesome.

This has to be their best television performance of Stay With You so far. Leno must have upgraded his studio sound system.

What do you all think?

I had the extreme pleasure of watching Leno with rabbit ears tonight (my cable is in a box in a truck), so for me, all of the Goos looked like they had a thin film on them. It was not exceptionally flattering...

But... they sounded good. The best John has sounded on Stay With You I think.

(Oh, and for those of you going to early tour shows, don't throw bras. Throw nice button down shirts or even wife beaters. Just provide John with the option to wear a shirt because we came dangerously close to a nip slip tonight)

mmmmmm, nip slip ;)

I think this was a lot better than Tony Danza, but i think we could hear the raspyness of John's voice from his infection...all in all, I loved it.

I agree...they sounded fantastic...much better sound system than on Conan and Regis. �Also, I loved that Scott McClellan is a goo fan! �LOL

my first thought when they came on was, "aww, Rzeznik's wearing nmf's favorite outfit again!" my sister, who is completely insane came up with this idea on why he refuses the underneath shirt: Maybe they were running late and Robby was like, "John, don't forget your shirt!" and Rzeznik is like, "There's no time!" because i'm partly insane, at about 12:30 last night, i thought it was hilarious. . .

now, all kidding a side (including that side part in Rzeznik's hair) i thought out of all the TV performances, this was their best. they sounded great, the vocals were loud and clear. . .they always seem to kick it up a notch for Leno. . . ;D

Oh my god, I've crept into the thoughts of people. That's terrifying. But my theory is that John is given one standard set of clothing for each tour (by someone. That part of my theory is a little weak). If he ruins his clothes, he just has to deal with it. And, on the very first day, his shirt went through a wood chipper (or something. Another weak spot in the theory) and now he has no shirt to wear. But really, this isn't my worst "John outfit". To see that one, go watch Broadway on Conan...

Oh, and Korel has instantly become my favorite side keyboardist/guitarist in the history of Goo, because I just realized he's left handed. Yay for lefties who make it to adulthood without injuring themselves with right handed equipment!

Last night I got home from work just in time to catch the last half of the Goos performing the song. When I saw John wearing the suit w/no shirt, I smiled and thought of you, nmf. Sorry. But I also think fondly of you when I hear the words Snakes On a Plane. �:P

oh yes, i remember that outfit, too. from the waist up, it is a highly respectable outfit. . .camera pans down and we see Man!Capris. . .ahhh!!! loved his hair though. . . ;D

Anyway totally agree about the performance, it was awesome! And have I been completely asleep when watching the other SWI performances they've done because I don't remember noticing ALL the guys (except Mike, obviously... ::) ) playing guitars in the song before..??

I'm just really here to answer some PMs and thought I'd make a comment on John's (non-existant) shirt. My peaceful protest continues until the fanclub dies or I'm put on the Goo payroll... neither of which will happen very soon, most likely.

We will NOT turn another one of Shannon's threads into a Snakes on a Plane thread. We will NOT. (Actually, I found a really great avatar the other day and was thinking about using it here, but don't really want to give up the smiling fish, because it's a frigging smiling fish, which is awesome)

I had the old-school rabbit ears too (motherf*cking rabbit (ears) on a motherf*cking tv!), not the new fancy ones. It reminded me of when I used to watch Star Trek in 4th grade (I swear I've stopped) in my room and would have to reposition the rabbit ears every day. And I dress up like a bunny pretty much all the time...

Yes, Korel (Kal-El in Superman?) Tunador and the other guitarist is Brad Fernquist.

Not good quality, but you get the gist of why the pants are awful, especially with the shoes. The shirt is also unbuttoned a little too far. Thank god he didn't repeat that outfit over and over... :D

Should I do that? Should I just make this my resident thread? I mean, it has Goo, it has a picture of John's awful outfit, it has SOAP references, and it has internet people saying they thought of me in the real world, which thoroughly creeps me out. It's homey. I like it.

Hey Nicole,

A few thoughts...

- That Conan outfit, OMG what the heck was he thinking? I never saw that pic before and don't need to ever see it again.

- I agree, John needs a shirt - quick. That jacket w/o a shirt look is just not a good look for anyone.

- Korel is a sweetheart. I met him at the Virgin NYC show and he was so friendly. He hung out with us while we were on line for the meet-n-greet and he was just chatting away with us about music and movies.

- Good luck at gradulation ;D

Ohhhh tear tear. :'( I freaking missed Leno. I was out of town. And I think I even HAD LENO ON right before they performed and turned it off. I forgot.

Nmf, my parents still use rabbit ears. VOLUNTARILY. I'm damn good a positioning them. They refuse to get cable. I mean flat out they don't want it. I can't believe them. ::)
