Title: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by AirHej on May 3rd, 2006, 9:23am Two words..... BUSH LEAGUE! This pre-sale was awful. For the Darien Lake show, they listed the 59.50 tix as sections 100/200. Are you kidding me? How do you run a pre-sale without giving the exact ticket location. If my seats aren't in the 100 section, I'm definitely trying on Saturday morning for the regular sale. No way am I going to the show that day and not knowing where my seats are. Why couldn't they have ironed out this Inner Machine before the album launched? It's not like they drop an album every year. Come on. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by DWG on May 3rd, 2006, 9:34am Same problem with Jones Beach and Holmdel. One price for the whole venue, no specs on where the seats are located. I guess it's gonna take a leap of faith in the fan club that they are providing a good seat. This oughtta be interesting. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by Kristinagoo on May 3rd, 2006, 9:41am Other fan clubs do that too, Aerosmith waits until pre-sale is over and then puts people in the "best" places. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed. I will be pissed though if they are not in 100! |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by JaniGoo on May 3rd, 2006, 9:43am Boston (Tweeter Center) only listed the sections: floor seats, shed seats, etc. No info on where your seats would be as far as seat # or row #. It was also will call. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by ShanGooFan on May 3rd, 2006, 9:43am I'm a member of another fanclub where you have to do your presale directly through ticketmaster and it's a NIGHTMARE. 9 times out of 10 the scalpers get all the good seats. The way the Goos have it set up pretty much eliminates any scalping because of the will call pick up. I wasn't too crazy at first about not knowing where my seats would be but I just decided to have faith. They've been working night and day to make this awesome for us so I'm going to trust that they did their best. It's pretty hard to get super close anymore with all the holds that the radio stations, management, band, season ticket holders, etc. get before we even get to buy anything. They said 4% of the best after holds so I'm going to trust that. I just went back and checked my venue and the floor seats are now completely gone. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by BitterPills on May 3rd, 2006, 9:43am Same here :'( Tried for 2 tix to MA at exactly 10:01am - $67.50 seats - told me ADVANCE SALE OVER :'( What the hell did they reserve only 50 seats the most? How can they be sold out in 1 minute? :'( And did you read the fine print when you agree to charges? These tix are all WILL CALL ONLY - that sucks, they won't mail them to you, why not? :o These are through Cinderblock and In-Ticketing, there is no seating chart - and I have no tickets now :'( I'm not buying lower price tickets to be at the back of the venue/or lawn. They dont tell you section, row, or seat, are you kidding! You charge your credit card not knowing anything? :'( I read on other boards fans are buying these tix with no idea where their seats are, I think thats terrible :-/ I joined the fan club just as everyone else did for presale/good seats...so much for that, I think I'm gonna wait for Friday :'( |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by AirHej on May 3rd, 2006, 9:44am You mentioned Aerosmith pre-sales. Do they at least let you know after the pre-sale where your seats are? I just went on the Inner Machine msg boards and people are going insane over there. I really feel bad for peolpe who were typing in their credit card information only to click submit and find out there are no seats available! That is awful! With Ticketmaster or Tickets.com, once you get to the credit card screen, you have x number of mins to get your info in, but the seats are guaranteed as long as you get it in that time. |
||
Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by Kristinagoo on May 3rd, 2006, 9:50am Aerosmith did not tell you about your seats until 1 week before. When I did it for Darien a few years ago I think I was in row 20 but that was because their fan club is huge and it went by seniority in the fan club. I was new. People that had been members a long time got excellent seats. I am nervous about it, but I doubt its worse than ticketmaster! Will call is a good thing-thats the only way to keep out scalpers. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by BitterPills on May 3rd, 2006, 9:54am I am also a Hanson fan club member and let me tell you, I get a presale date, a password, through ticketmaster, and always great seats. They're always within the first 10 rows of the venue, I've been doing it for years, I've never had a problem, it's all works out beautifully. Tickets are mailed to you, you know exactly where you're sitting AND they do Meet/Greet chances with every ticket purchase. This is ridiculous :'( |
||
Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by AirHej on May 3rd, 2006, 10:22am Here's the response I got from InTicketing when I emailed them about the show: "Thank you for purchasing ticket today. Currently, all of our fan club tickets are for pick up at the day of the event at the venue box office on 'will call'. We do not have the seat selection as of yet, but rest assured, you will get some of the best seats in the house! We appreciate you purchasing tickets through our fan club. See you at the show!" |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by BitterPills on May 3rd, 2006, 11:32am Everyone is pissed over at the Inner Machine boards. Many got told there were no tickets left once they put their credit card information in. Many are not taking a chance at spending that much money and not knowing where their seats are, and some are saying they want their fan club money refunded, that this was planned poorly :-/ How can you not have the seat selection yet :-/ They dont know where your seats are, but put them onsale to fans through a fan club membership - that sucks - wish I knew this before. And dont forget, tickets are always non-refundable, people are saying if their seats suck they'll just buy better and sell these, no they cant, not if theyre "will call" :-/ If these were GA tix, no one would care, but charging close to $100 for a ticket and not knowing where youre sitting is ridiculous - not to mention after hours of driving, then having to stand in that will call line - fans are not happy :-/ They say have faith in the club that they'll give you the best seats - well, I don't have a ticket and was ready with my credit card at 10:01am - instead I got ADVANCE SALE OVER :'( They said Buffalo tix sold out immediately, and my MA was gone in 1 min, how can that be, how little did they have set aside then? :-/ Yet, I'm reading that Counting Crows fans did their pre-sale today with their password, got tickets through ticketmaster, and know where they are sitting :-/ |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by nmf016 on May 3rd, 2006, 11:46am Remember the GF tour, where all you had to do during the presale was type "shudder" (the password you got from buying the cd) into a box on Ticketmaster and Ticketmaster spit out a seat location and you paid for it and they mailed you your tickets? Not really relevant, but kinda interesting. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by BitterPills on May 3rd, 2006, 1:32pm Yes, I remember the Gutterflower tour with the password, that was great, and we got pretty good seats! :D Now, I just read some fans joined the CC fan club, got their password, and bought their tickets through ticketmaster, along with knowing where they're sitting :-/ They said they won't gamble through Inner Machine and pay all that money and not know where theyre sitting. If we were told the first 10 rows, etc...then thats fine, but they posted the notice after so many fans posted/complained of not understanding why they weren't being told where their seats are - that they dont have a seat selection for us yet, but we'll be getting the best seats in the house. Excuse me, I don't have a seat. The minute I logged into the site and clicked on my show it said advance sales over, thats crap :'( Some are saying they did it "will call" so the scalpers can't get their hands on the tickets and sell them - the season ticket holders already have them up on ebay - 2 tix for my MA show are $425.00 >:( |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by mchaps55 on May 3rd, 2006, 2:13pm i bought them though cinderblook for darien lake and im quite happy that i will be in the 100/200 level, they are the closest and if my exp does me right was last time the played in buffalo for qutterflower i didnt do the presale and the best i could get was 300's on the day it came out, maybe it will be diffrent for you guys passing but i didnt want to take the chance. I did alot of reseach from other fanclubs about this type of presale and most bands(mb20 ect) said they got great seats going this route. Remember guys for a 10,000 seat venue and as the goo's said on the site that the presale will only be alocated 4% that meens 400 tickets are available, so ofcourse its going to seel out quick, expecially in Buffalo for the Darien lake show. I fill fortnate to get them as i had a bad feeling going into it. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by AirHej on May 3rd, 2006, 2:43pm I thought I remember hearing that Darien Lake can hold close to 20,000 people. |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by januaryfriend27 on May 3rd, 2006, 3:53pm I went on to buy tickets for both Boston Tweeter Center and the Gilford NH show... I like presales where you have a password to enter in...and honestly, had never done a presale any other way. When i went to buy these tix this morning, i ended up so nervous at how it turned out. I bought my Boston tix first, i did get tickets for that show, but was SO MAD when they didnt show me where my seats would be. And when I saw it was WILL CALL, well, I almost kicked the computer. I then decided not to bother with the NH show, and that I would just try on Saturday during the regular sale. I am ok with the Tweeter Center because I am familiar with that venue, but the NH one I am not familiar with and dont want to mess around with this. As for Boston, I just hope i dont get screwed out of this. I am staying positive. I did buy "Floor seats" so I am ASSUMING i will get good seats, and if I dont, well...I really dont know right now haha. I know the Goos are trying to make it right because of the CC fanclubs and all that, but this was and is ridiculous. GOOS: Just do a show alone so we can be happier! |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by januaryfriend27 on May 3rd, 2006, 4:06pm I am also wondering who we can call? I mean, can we call Cinderblock or whatever to see if we are guaranteed descent seats, so that when the regular sale starts on Saturday, we know whether to buy more tix????????? I totally dont have the money to buy more tix, but I have been saving saving saving my money like CRAZY for this tour so I can hit all the shows I want to, and if it means buying more tickets, I'm ready... |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by ShanGooFan on May 3rd, 2006, 6:18pm While waiting in line for the show that never happened today. I found out some very interesting and hopeful information about my tickets I bought today. There were two options to choose from Floor or Pavilion. I chose floor. I bought my tickets and went on my way hopeful that they would be good. Well I found out that floor tickets are ORCHESTRA PIT tickets. Can you believe it ;D I'm sharing this just to say ... have faith. I bet everyone who bought tickets today is going to have great seats. |
||
Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by LadyGoodiva on May 3rd, 2006, 7:05pm I think they're doing the "will call" and no seating numbers (yet) to reduce scalping. The Counting Crows fan club had presale today too, through Ticketmaster, and there are already 113 listings on Ebay. |
||
Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by ShanGooFan on May 3rd, 2006, 7:10pm That's why I hate Ticketmaster. Every presale I've ever done through them has resulted in the scalpers getting better seats than the fanclub members. So I'm not ever going to complain about the Inner Machine's presale system. I know of other fanclubs who use that same type of system and it works really well. |

orchestra pit is the best seats you can get without sitting in a folding chair on stage! usually there is the 1st row, then there are rows in front of 1st, which is the pit, very awesome. . . ;D |

Title: Re: Ridiciulous pre-sale! Post by ShanGooFan on May 3rd, 2006, 7:44pm The orchestra pit is the section in the very front of venues reserved for a band or orchestra. At concerts they cover the pit with a floor and this pit area then becomes the best, most coveted seats at the venue. They're very front and dead center. You can't do better than the pit unless you're on stage. |

Yes they do. When I bought these today I had no idea they were pit seats. I just wanted the best that was available. Come to find out the pit is the only floor space available at this venue. The rest is either pavillion or grass seating. This news more than made up for not getting to see the show today. I just have a feeling that if people trust the system that they will be more than happy with their seats. |

For the Gutterflower tour, I had 3rd row, dead center....thank you ticketbastard. I just hope my seat is just as good this time around. Especially since I'm only buying one ticket....maybe that will increase my odds of getting a good seat? |

No, I didn't end up buying them. I'm a little cautious now if seat/row #'s are not assigned and I've never been to the venue before. I belong to a few fan clubs and this particular one was the first time I had purchased tickets without knowing exactly where my seat would be until I got the tickets in the mail. I just knew what section I was in. I had never been to the venue before, so I wasn't familiar with it at all. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't know most of the fan club members had much better seats by reading the message board! Most of them complained that those seats were bad! >:( I would have traded in a minute! We all paid the same price - it was a set price and it was not cheap! But, in the end, it turned out to be a great time, and thank god for those big screens they put up! |
