Title: Goos on Tony Danza
Post by januaryfriend27 on May 2nd, 2006, 2:00pm
Just finished watching Tony Danza...goos performed Stay With You...

Personally, that wasnt one of their top notch performances. Johnny did not sound very good...guess thats what happens when you travel and dont sleep at all!

I missed it :( can you believe the networks in rural Mississippi don't carry the Tony Danza show?  ugh ::)

I hope Johnny is ok...he does look a little tired these days, but understandably so with the schedule they've been keeping :o

(geez...i didn't realize i was logged in....i wonder how long i have been!)

anygoo...yeah, i watched it, too. he didn't look very good, did he? his complexion looked bad. :-/
and the guitar player looked....well....i don't know...kinda .... crappy.....not nearly as cute as greg! the other guy playing guitar and keyboards was okay. sounded okay musically, but not too good vocally.
robby sounded good on bass.
i had heard rumors that he was gonna have dread-locks and damned if he don't! :D i didn't think i would like them, but i do!
mike was smiling at the end! that was cool. he was rocking! he's a good drummer.
all in all, i guess things are just starting off a little slow, maybe, but they'll get better. we just have to give them a chance. it's been a while, after all.
john was talking about bringing canned food for the food banks. that was good.
let's think positive, folks!
COME ON.....LET LOVE IN!

Our networks stopped carrying the show too.  I'm so upset that I missed it.

See now I thought that he sounded better than he did on Conan or Regis and Kelly. He was still a little shakey...but I don't think he was nearly as shakey as he was with those other 2 shows..... and I thought he sounded a little more comfortable talking today too. Where as on the other 2 he sounded uneasy and almost too in and on the spot. Today he just started telling about the summer tour with the cc's and how they are in support of the Harvest organization. That if you bring the canned goods to the show they are very good about making sure the food goes directly to the foodbanks... and how most times people are actually eatting the food that nite. He was very well spoken today, and looked more at ease. just my opinion..... but I felt better today turning off the tv when it was over. I was concerned after the other 2 ..... and I chalk all of it up to exhaustion. They are overworked and un used to it all..... its been a while and they are't as young as they used to be.

WHY?... No worries mate..... they're JUST tired! He wasn't shakey AT ALL at the Avalon....plus those damn shows don't do them ANY justice.... They aren't using the same sound systems that the band uses either! The band has state of the art equipment..... Tony Danza has whatever his chumps could get their hands on.....

 They're F I N E ...... Plus we all KNOW John hates the
tv shows the most.... too much focus on his voice makes him nervous.... LOL.... not a good thing to have issues with as frontman, but he's ALWAYS been that way... Chin up alls well!

I keep reading this everywhere. Jeez, they aren't that old; I've got at least 10 years on them. Maybe they need some Geritol. Put some "pep" into that music, sonny!

(Either that, or take some of whatever Tony Danza's taking...)

yeah, you're so right about the sound systems on these shows...i just worry about exhaustion, that can be serious.  ( i am a terrible worrier! )

*trying to think positively* ;)

Or they could use whatever the hell the 'Stones have been perserving themselves with, hopefully the crappy music the 'Stones produce isnt a side effect of this perservatives

ok ya'll   you took me way to far on that one! LOL.... I just meant they aren't probably feeling as ABLE to bounce right back after a run of shows like they've been doing....
They are prob really feeling the side effects. Its not like they've been touring or doing one show after another for the last 4 years ..... some time has gone by ....I know in the last 4 years I don't feel nearly capable of doing half of what I used to without seriously feeling it.

I like the Rolling Stone comment that was priceless.

Just wanted to clarify that I wasn't negativly calling them old, hell I prob feel older than they do, LMAO

Yeah, that was the point. ;)

It just cracks me up when people say 40 is old.

And I get all ornery when people imply that us old farts aren't supposed to rock any more.

...and oh, yeah...what is Tony Danza taking? He always looks the same...must be "JonBonJovi Juice"

wasn't implying that at all... hell I'm getting shit for being 32 w/ 2 kids and trying to relive my youth thru the Goos. They're calling me a groupie cuz I am going to 2 more shows plus the one I already went to at Avalon and the one I went to last year in Detroit.... they say I need to grow up and be the adult I NEED to be for my kids and wife to my hubby ...... you know what I say.....
PISS OFF! and MYOB! I don't do much for me ....I have very few things I obsess over and GOO is one of 'em ....
They keep me sane for me to be able to be that better mother and wife for my family so whatta they know....

ANYWAY.....wasn't implying that at all DWG

I can relate to that...my mom is always embarassing me with some old Bon Jovi story or another. Don't let it bother you. You can be a fan and a good wife & mother.

I'm cool with the age thing. It wasn't just you...just everywhere I read, people keep saying the Goos are getting older, and I don't know if that's the reason for this, that, or the other thing. Maybe it is, maybe not, I dunno.

I believe Tony Danza showcased them very well. He made a great effort to speak with the band and give them a full song not cutting them off. I think since he's an actor he knows how it is and they help him by being there and he helps them by having them on the show. Tony seemed very casual and comfortable with them and the Goos seemed comfortable laid back with Tony also which makes me think he took the time to speak with them/hang out before the show or has met them on another occasion...I wish we had more hosts on these shows that took that much time with their musical acts and appreciated that maybe their ratings went up that day and people only watched that day just to see the Goos.....a little bit more time...a little bit more effort...makes a big difference...& goes a long way...

these hosts need to learn to give us a little bit (no pun intended heh)..more of the Goos that is... at least that's my take on the whole issue!!!!

Stay True & Rock On!
