Title: My Let Love In Review
Post by FallenStar on Apr 27th, 2006, 8:13am
i figured to post a new topic for this rather than reply to someone else's because I figured most people wouldn't see it that way....

I'm not going to go through each track individually, but just talk about the album as a whole.

I will say though that my favorite songs are Stay With You, Let Love In, Feel The Silence and Can't Let It Go

My overall impression is that the album is very good, but it seems a bit one sided, most of the songs are all ballad-like songs and at relatively the same tempo.  There's not a "Big Machine" of this album or anything in that realm.

Personally I'd love to hear a more edgysong or two like "Long Way Down" again...but I'm pretty sure that's not happening.

Like I said before, that doesn't make the songs on the album bad, it's just that they all sound relatively similar, not to mention it doesn't help that a good portion of them are in the same key, which for me being a music theory person makes them sound even more similar.

I've never been a big fan of Robby's vocals, but Listen is one of his best songs in my opinion, so that's a plus.

All in all I wouldn't say I'm very disappointed...

I just wish there was a few edgier songs like "Dizzy" or "Big Machine"

I guess if I had to rate the album I'd give it a B+ or B

;)
