Title: More Marketing??

Does anybody feel that "Let Love In" is kinda getting more marketing than Gutterflower? Maybe the executives are feeling that this album is more promising?

Oh, yeah, definitely, but that's a good thing.  That means their label is giving their more money, which means they can tinker around with more things . . . like maybe every single will have a music video to go with it this time!  :P  Or they can have more advanced lighting effects at shows, more elaborate screenprints on merchandise, etc.

I think with the success of "Better Days" and "Give a Little Bit", their label has more confidence in them, since they probably lost some faith after seeing the sales of "Gutterflower".

It's crazy to me that GOLD means "failure" anyway...

I wonder how many records they need to sell to be considered a success...I think that having a record going gold would make it a success for sure.

U have to look at gold and the artist and not gold alone. If I sold gold...that's amazing, but the goo's previously sold like 4 million records or so and then went to gold? I mean, if Michael Jordan sat on the bench or only scored 2 shots, that's not good, but that's good for the average basketball player. If u just sat on the bench all season, that's a success cuz you're there.

There definitely seems to be more marketing this time round and in the UK too  ;D

Some friends pointed out to us yesterday that there's actually an advert on music tv channels over here for "Let Love In" and we caught it last night - that certainly never happened with Gutterflower.

It even had the London tour dates running along the bottom and saying 3rd June - SOLD OUT, extra show added due to phenomenal demand!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing  :nanner: :nanner:

I think they've been markeing LLI a lot more than any of their previous albums. A few days ago, I turned on Vh1 in the morning to see a commercial for LLI, then I walked away from the TV for awhile, and when I came back, my brother was in the room and the Stay With You video was on and my brother said he saw a commercial for LLI. Again! And I heard a commercial on the radio for it on teh release day.  I also heard that there are posters for it at Best Buy...

Yeah, it's really weird at how a record company will look at an artist's sales history . . . like they could sell three million copies with one, and then one million copies on the next.  They only see that as a decrease in two million copies, even though platinum is quite good for the average artist.

Okay, I think I just regurgitated what someone else just posted, but I'm agreeing is all . . . :P
