So, what does everyone think of the new Goo? On my first listen I really like it. I think it'll be a good 'summer song' and will be cool live.

(And would anyone be so kind to post the lyrics. I don't trust myself to look on the main site. Too much temptation to look at other lyrics)

I think it's a good song, but I don't feel that it's as good as most of their singles. It's a song that shouldn't be a single. I wouldn't bet on it to be a hit at all.

I feel that part of the singing don't fit with the music...it's like John been chilling with the Japanese too much..hehe.

I still like it better than "here is gone" the first time I heard it...I'd eventually like "HIG" to a certain extent. Hopefully it'll be like last time where a "Big Machine" came out.

LOVE that there is new Goo! I'm with you PON...it seems like I wait through the slow zen-like lyric to get to the rockin' part, BUT it IS still new to me! :-) and I believe in combination with the lyric I'm diggin' it and will LOVE it tomorrow. I don't think I've ever LOVED any song at first listen. It definitely has my attention though. VERY exciting. Not going to go too deep with my analysis...gonna close my eyes...and just take it all in!

It's such an amazing experience to wait for this album to be released...all the excitement & hope that builds up for new Goo. And then when the first single (Better Days was more like a single off of the Target cd in my opinion than the first single off of LLI) is released it's like weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D

I love how Stay With You starts off slow....begins to build.....and then rock rock rock!! Mike is workin' those drums!! My favorite part is the build up to the second bridge. Johnny's voice sounds extremely sexy and controlled. :-* Just when I thought he couldn't sound any more passionate and from a place of complete honesty.....he does!

It's so upbeat and catchy!

I think this song is going to be BIG! I just had to go to Robby's Lobby to tell him so!

I can't wait to rock out to that song at Red Rock! I mean arms will be everywhere! :)

From what I've heard, I like it. Johnny seems to be using his voice like he used to. I don't think Gutterflower gave him enough of a vocal workout.

Just was out running errands and listened to it a gazillion times. Really liking it more and more. I was initially so-so with the slow parts, but lyrically it really works. Very very excited if SWY is representative of the tracks on the record. Good stuff!

i LOVE it! when i very first heard HIG, i didn't like it and to an extent, i still really don't, but Stay With You was instant LOVE!! i like how it's still kinda raw, not too polished and over produced. . .the drumming really stands out. . .i hope we get some good Mike shots in the video. . .it seems like a long way until the 25th now. . . ;D

I just heard it on PLJ here in New York! :nanner: To me, it's a "chillin' out" kind of tune! I need to get into it a little bit more before I make my final decision! John's voice is sort of getting raspy (damn smokin'! >:( ) but it's still as sexy as ever! I guess, in all honesty, the jury's still out with me, but I have a feeling I'm favoring the fact that I WILL wind up liking it! :D

Yeah...I think they evolved too much....haha. I was really surprised on how much they changed from aboynamedgoo to dizzyupthegirl, but man, this is the biggest change yet. They can always evolve..u know, put some hip hop in it or something..hehe.

I've been listening to the song on repeat ever since the download finished....I absolutely love it. I think it's wonderful....and was well worth the anticipation. Now I really can't wait for the album to come out!!!

I finally heard it and all i can say is wow!!! That is the most amazing song ive ever heard. The interlude in this song is to die for, i LLLOOOVVVEEE that guitar solo bit
I always fear ill be dissapointed with new goo cuz i have such amazingly high expectations of it....
But once again the guys rose to a new amazing level, this song is just brilliant and if it dosnt do well theres a real problem with the music industry. Great to hear a bit of rock!!

I totally agree. I can picture Mike pounding away on the skins :)

I love the song. I really hope this album does well for them.

I like this song so far, it's very cool! It provides a nice balance of rythme. The intro is awesome and the guitar solo around the middle also rocks! With this song the slow parts I had to get used too, but it builds up great to the fast part (If you run with me, If you run with me....I'll stay with you) and its what makes it better.

That's exactly why I opted to only listen to it a couple of times rather than downloading it. I was afraid if I had it easily accessible I'd listen to it way too much and be burned out before the album even came out.

I absolutely love this song and can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

On the first 2-3 listens I thought it sounded a bit flat ... but on further listens, you get a real feel for the song, and you find subtlety whereas you had first sensed flatness.

And I think that's what makes the song so good is the subtlety of all elements - from John's voice to the lyrics to the overall instrumental sound.

The music works well with the lyrics, which are bursting with images. "I can feel the storm inside you" just sets the scene - I picture it all in black and white, like the album cover, and low, rumbling clouds pregnant with rain, and an eerie light peeking through as two people run together through the calm of the storm ... such a beautiful picture.

My favorite part has to be the bridge though: "I can taste you sweet and warm" seems so sensual and erotic to me ... it just riles me up! I thought the R-rated version of 1000 words was as hot and bothered as Goo could get me, but that line is just to die for.

I'm really enjoying every lyric and I can't wait for the video and album releases. I've been studying abroad in Florence, Italy this entire semester and I return to the States on April 24th. I'll rest up and get over my jet lag and then bright and early the next morning RUSH to buy the album.

BTW this is like my first post in almost 2 years. Crazy what new Goo can do!

i've had a few listens but don't wanna burn it out as other people have said. i'm looking forward to hearing it in context of the album. i'm glad goo are releasing a more lively song.
