nothing against the nice people who run and frequent this place, but is it possible that when the official site is reworked for the new album they'll include a message board? the reason i'm asking is that i know some band members will visit their official site's boards and the thought of that possibly happening is fun.

what do you think (or maybe know)?

a while back in 1999 in their mp3.com interview, they mentioned they only wanted to use their site as a place to inform people of whats happening, and of things you cant get anywhere esle, they said that "Theres enough of that (referring to message boards) out there, we want to make our site of things you cant get anywhere else"

back int heir hey day they had a message board on their website. it got taken down eventually b/c of all the crap on it.

I think fan message boards should remain the domain of the fans.

My experience is that when a band gets involved, or runs a forum off their own site, they only want good publicity on it and it ends up getting moderated heavily.

At least here we're all entitled to our opinions and can speak our minds freely......

I totally agree! In my experience, the worst message boards are on the official sites cuz there's really no freedom and ya can't blame them. Being a fan and being around fans mean freedom and being part of an official board would take away the freedom.
