This is a follow up off the Billboard Blurb that was just posted in the forums.(sorry thought it deserved its own thread)  What i found in the article surprised me. Look down in bold.  Also at the very end it tells you when they are expected to be on the road.

Goo Goo Dolls Bring The 'Love' On Eighth Album

March 02, 2006, 3:20 PM ET

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
The Goo Goo Dolls' eighth studio album, "Let Love In," will arrive April 25 via Warner Bros. First single "Better Days" has been on the airwaves since the fall, having peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart and sold more than 250,000 digital downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As previously reported, the set was produced by Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, Dave Matthews Band). Among the tracks expected to make the final cut are "Give a Little Bit," "Feel the Silence," "Tuesday," "Strange Love," "Stay With You" and "I Can't Let Go."

"Let Love In" is the follow-up to 2002's "Gutterflower," which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 682,000 copies in the United States.

The group will spend May through July on the road, but dates have yet to be announced.

"give a little bit" has to be a mistake or typo

Okay... GALB better not be on the album.  I already have to skip over it on LIB, I don't want to have to skip it on LLI as well...

But 'yay' for new song titles.  I can't guess on Tuesday, but the rest all sound like 'John songs'.

WOW! Gutterflower only sold around half a million? HAHA! This album is probably not gonna do as good...unless they release some dizzy like tunes, and i'm not sure about that cuz their music changed alot since.

Actually standards into today's music going gold isn't a bad thing. reason being with the price of cd's and file sharing selling 500,000 albums today is like selling over 2 million when file sharing wasn't in the picture. I meen look at a band like lifehouse with the huge hit they had(you and me) in 2005 along with it being the most played song on most stations and there alblum is only gold.(back in the 90's having a hit like that, the album would be triple platnuim) Music is alot diffrent these days and with "Better Days" and "Give a litte bit" doing so well over the past 2 years combined(radio play and digitial download), there is still a radio outlet and fanbase for this band. Digital download is a big thing in the market now of days, and makes the company a lot of money. Simply because they don't have to make 'records' online, so it's cheaper to make and they make more this way. They are still going still going strong, and I think even if this album only goo's gold the record company won't complain, you will still be hearing the songs on the radio and trust me it won't be a bad thing, The goo's are Sucking millions of dollars in for their company from mp3 sales of their previous records... The goo's are still very profitable and radio friendly.

Ah man please tell me GALB wont be on the new album, that means only 9 new songs ?????
I hope this was an assumption made by the journalist however i have a feeling after this massive wait, there will be only 9 songs we havnt heard :'(
Sorry to be a bit down but man why put GALB on it???? it was recorded 2 years ago!!

Because let's face it, it would boost sales. And GALB wasn't on a studio album..

Is it bad that I've made up a tune for this song and already have it stuck in my head?

Going gold is not bad...it's good, but it's not a good sign if you went from multiplatinum to gold. It's like if a basketball player sits on the bench most of the time and scoring a few points...good, but if Michael Jordan did the same...not good.

I don't think filesharing is really an excuse cuz there are plenty of artists who are selling millions of albums.

The truth is is that dizzy was very attractive to a large audience and was a very good album, while gutter was not as good. I'm a huge fan of the GGDs, but I only liked 2 songs off of gutter and I often forget that they even released an album 4 years ago.

I would agree now about digital downloads, but not as much during gutter days.

I hear ya but there are not nearly as many albums going platinum today as there was 10 yrs ago,5 yrs ago, hec even 2 yrs ago. Selling Records is going down alot each year. When Dizzy was out file sharing really wasn't around not like it is today by anymeens, I do agree that if Gutterflower was put out in the same time frame as Dizzy it wouldnt be as successful but it def would be Platinum. Like i said before Lifehouse allbum is only gold, if that song game out say 95 and that album might be triple platinum. Just using that as an example
