WOW! Great interpretation Shade! :)

I generally agree with you, but I never think too deep. I'm more of a general person and I see it as him liking a girl that doesn't like him. However, it's not like a "nice guy" situation, but more of a "self destrutive" situation? He's attracted to what is not good for him. He kinda takes pleasure in it.

John has stated that Big Machine is a reference to L.A and the lifestyle out there with all it's pretense and phoniness. I believe this song was his brilliant way of poking fun at all that is L.A.
