posting a bit late... Miyoko emailed this to me on the 22nd or sometime...

Hi, all!

I just wanted to let you know that Robby will be signing
Music is Hope CDs at Media Play in Amherst, New York
the day after Thanksgiving... �Please stop by if you can!!!

*******If you bring an unopened PEZ dispenser we'll give you
a free "mystery gift bag" full of GGD, Music is Art and Good
Charamel collectibles, and one lucky random winner will get
a certificate for a YAMAHA guitar autographed by Robby.
These dispensers will then be customized by Robby and
Miyoko, and auctioned on eBay for the benefit of Katrina Relief.

The Goo Goo Dolls will be doing "Better Days" at the lighting
of the Rockefeller Center Xmas tree on the 30th as well as

I went to Robby's signing today. Can I just say that Robby is the coolest human being I think I've ever seen? When I got there it wasn't too crowded and Robby was just walking over to go get some coffee. Then he was just wandering around with Miyoko looking at cds and talking to anyone who came up to him. Every now and then someone would come up to his table to get a cd signed and the people watching the table would have to go find Robby, but he's so short that they kept losing him.

(A little background- I've never actually wanted to meet any of the Goos, because I'm afraid that if something bad happened I wouldn't be able to appreciate what they do anymore. However, since Robby was going to be 15 minutes from my house and I wanted the Music is Hope cd anyways, I decided to just do it.)

I finally got the nerve to go up to him and give him the PEZ dispensers I had brought and he seemed pretty happy about that. I brought three dispensers and he tried to give me three 'goody bags' in return! I told him I only needed one, because I didn't want them to run out and he said that it was awesome that I thought that and I told him what he was doing was pretty awesome too. He also signed a cd for me. And I pulled a blonde moment and forgot to get a picture with him, even though I had my camera in my purse...

Robby was also on AM Buffalo this morning and said they'd be mixing the new cd after their two NY shows next week and they expected the cd to be out in March or April (I know, pushed back again...)

he tried to give ya three goody bags?! what a sweetie! don't tell anyone i said this, but Robby really and truly is my favorite, he's just an honest and good person. . .and you got CD release info straight from a Goo! so, what was in your goody bag? i'm glad you had a great encounter and thanks for sharing. . . ;D

I never wanted to meet the goos either and don't plan to. Reminds me of that episode of "Growing Pains" where this kid met his rock idol and the guy turned out to be an a-hole. I don't expect much from the goo's...I like them for their music. I love a lot of things in life, but it doesn't mean I have to meet the creators of those things.
