NBC ANNOUNCES 2005 RADIO MUSIC AWARD NOMINEES INCLUDING 50 CENT, KELLY CLARKSON, GREEN DAY, TIM MCGRAW, MARIAH CAREY, DESTINY'S CHILD, USHER AND MANY MORE

BURBANK -- November 3, 2005 -- The 2005 Radio Music Award nominees for best artists and songs of the year in mainstream, urban and rhythmic, alternative and active rock, rock, adult hit and country music as determined by Mediabase, the medium's leading source for tracking airplay, were announced today. The winners of each category will be announced during the show's live broadcast on Monday, December 19 from Las Vegas (9-11 p.m. ET).

Thought of by the music industry as the Golden Globes of music award shows because of its casual party-style, this year promises to be even bigger than last. In past years, the show has included many of the top names in music including Elton John, Destiny's Child, Tim McGraw, Nelly, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Janet Jackson and many more.

evidently after damn near a year in the top 10 on the Adult top 40 it is NOT necessary to promote a song... I say GOOd for them.... they deserve it...

the song is still up there in the top 20 on that chart... if you remember tho, GALB came out right after the Tsunami and was, like Better Days, used as backdrop music for Red Cross PSAs, and in a lot of commercials and didn't they perform it on a couple of those benefit shows?

stuff like that stays with people... the song still gets tons of airplay, obviously, due to it's holding pattern on the Adult Top 40... I'm glad they got this...

it's hard to say how they'll actually finish, but getting nominated is half the feat....

Theres no way GALB is beating Bvd of broken dreams...that was probably the most played song of any genre. As much as the goos desearve an award for all their ard work...Green Day is just huge lately. They mid as well just put their whole cd on the radio, they only have a few more songs left they can release...lol.

How do you get two nominations without much promotion? Well....the music speaks for itself! I guess the record industry knows - like us - that the Goos are just good, talented musicians. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of GALB, but just liked knowing that after all these years that the Goo's were still able to put a song out there that appealed to the masses. Good music, by good guys = industry recognition! GO GOO!

woah, i'm surprised,

two songs nominated...

its strange that of all the other songs nominated in the same categories, i think the goo goo dolls ones aren't played in australia.

i hope they win, but with 'competition' like Greenday which is quite popular at the moment... yeah, :(

Why?? ???

I hope the Goos win. They greatly deserve it. They could win against Green Day since Green Day is nominated in so many different categories, it would be hard for them to win ALL of them.

frankly I am sick of Green Day, although I am quite fond of their newest song, I think they need to step aside... I don't think they will pull off getting all the awards they were nominated for.....

I so hope they win, they deserve it sooooo much! If they win for song of the year, I wonder if it will be kinda bittersweet since it's not one of their originals? I always think about weird shit like that, anyone else?
