Title: Re: Really Chuffed - Goo related! Post by LouAndNic on Oct 28th, 2005, 12:13pm Aww thanks guys :) As for "Chuffed" - we didn't think about it being a non-american term, guess it's just another example of the differences between the two countries. It's really fascinating actually! Really pleased you use it too tkc1989 - would have felt a bit odd otherwise! lol We use it over here when we're pleased with something i.e "well chuffed" although like someone pointed out to us, trains "chuff" too so it does get a bit confusing! Confusing - guess that sums up the English language lol Make no mistake though, we are MOST definitely happy and no, we're not "chuffing" or "puffing" like a train lmao |

Title: Re: Really Chuffed - Goo related! Post by LouAndNic on Oct 28th, 2005, 12:20pm Just found the following definition at the online Cambridge Dictionary.... "chuffed adjective [after verb] UK INFORMAL pleased or happy: He was really chuffed with his present." Hope that helps :) |

Title: Re: Really Chuffed - Goo related! Post by Saz_Goo on Oct 29th, 2005, 5:51am Wow, that's so cool you guys, congratulations! And third down, that's as noticeable as you could get really! ;D I love the fact they've got "Gootastic" and "EuroGoo" on there, it makes me feel like they're trying to show that they do know us pesky European fans exist, yay! :P And I used "chuffed" as well, normally "chuffed to bits" for really, really pleased. Heh, if the Goos come back to tour the UK next year we'll all be VERY chuffed! :P Didn't realise it's not used in America, LOL! Anyway, congrats again. |
