I just heard on Star 102.5 in Buffalo that Robby said the new album will be called "Better Days".  And also that it will be release in early 2006, but old news there.  The DJ said if anything changes, Robby usually keeps in touch with him.  He said Robby calls from down on Allen street...is that where his studio is?  Can anyone help me out there?  And there was a little Robby intro before they played the song, like the usual "This is robby from the Goo Goo Dolls and ur listening to Star 102.5...".  All of you in buffalo know this is probably the most goo friendly station you can find.  Gotta love the hometown support!!
But yea it sounds official...Better Days the single, and Better Days the album.  So i guess Better Days the single might pull an Iris and make it on the new album.  It certainly feels like an iris song...but the question is, can it be that monumental?
If anyone else heard this announcement, drop a line so no one thinks im crazy or makin it up...lol

o wow better days? tbh i was hoping it would be more poetic like gutterflower, but oh well...better days is still cool.

for some reason, I thikn that Dj mis interpruted that. I dont think the new album will be called better days. I dont think they would name the album after a single that was released a few months prior but thats just my opinion and my guess
and last monday john said that he still had to sing 5 more songs and that the name would come last. He said it like it was still up in the air. I am also unsure that better days will even be on that album

Im still alittle unsure about it as well, thats why i was hoping some other people heard it.  But if im hearing things thats what i heard.  I was glue to it, so it wasnt like it was hard to understand.  They played the little robby speech, then Better Days, the the DJ talked for about a minute.  And he seemed to be in touch with robby often.  Thats kinda the vibe i got?  

Whatever the album title is, it wont matter to me...its Goo!!  Better Days might actualy be clever, then people can refer to it alittle better.  I mean when Iris was huge, i doubt a lot of people knew their album was named Dizzy Up The Girl, since Dizzy wasnt that big of a single.  If the album was named Iris, im sure the not so familar fans would be able to go and find it at teh record store with ease.  But anyway...not that i went on a tangent...lol...but Better Days might be a good name.  The single could be big for many months...and the album could be out btwn Jan-Mar.  So the name Better Days will still be in peoples head by the albums out.  Then the goos rock the charts again with an amazing song.  Can u guys just see it?  They are musical and consumer geniuses!!

But then again Johnny says the title of the cd ALWAYS comes last. I don't think Dizzy had anything to do with the title of DUTG. I read somewhere that Johnny was in his rental car (rental hehe :D) and he went over a speed bump and the car kind of shook and it just hit him he was like "woah, Dizzy up the Girl" actually he said that in an interview but I can't remember if it was audio or text. Anyway, I guess that's how they came up with it but then again, who knows?

Ha ha i like the DUTG story lol!!!! I really dunno what they will call it and i can't wait to find out cuz every cd title is so cool and unique i love that.... but i just don't know about them naming the album after "Better Days" cuz they haven't named a cd after a song so far!!

that was from when Ellen spoke to them before the Grammys one year.  a cute little interview. . . ;D

The goo goo dolls like never name CD's after singles...i think Robby meant that Better Days will be on the new album..

I heard a different story about the title for DUTG . . . It was along the lines of a girl that John knew, who he thought had been working excessively, so he thought it would be a good idea to take her out and "dizzy her up", ease some of her work stress.  

In another interview, perhaps the same one in which he recounted the above story, John did mention that the original title of one of the songs on DUTG was going to be "Dizzy Up the Girl", but . . . I can't quite remember the reason why, but one of the songs was renamed; he didn't blatantly say which one, but it would seem most reasonable to be "Dizzy".  

If I get ambitious, I will look through some older interviews and see if I can find it, and if I do, I'll post it . . . but I might be lazy.

Yeah that's what i heard (about the Dizzy story) I read that on Geocities or something i can't remember!!!
