Let me preface this with I LOVE THE GOO GOO DOLLS...

However, UGH.  Johnny needed to smoke about a half a pack and stay up all night to prevent "morning voice" for his Better Days performance.  That's a vocally deep song for him and it was a little rough.  Seeing them was awesome and I hope it shoots Better Days sales through the roof.  I guess Johnny was channeling his inner Sargeant Pepper this morning with his clothing selections.  Very cute.  The hair looks nice and Robby didn't seem to have to worry about that with the skull cap.  Happy Birthday Mike!  Hear that although YOU are not 28 that you have shirts that are.  Funny.

Overall...Broadway was great, Goos are Great and my day has been made! :nanner:

I won't comment about the voice.  I know what I sound like at 8 in the morning...  

Oh, but I'd like to call the 'dresscode' for this album for John.  Very fancy jackets.  (Loved the suit on ReAct Now, think i love the jacket/shirt for the new video.  Didn't really love today's jacket, but loved the pants/shoes).  Oh, and it seems he got a new dye job recently.  I was looking forward to seeing dark hair.  :-/


Oh, and someone do me a favor.  Let me know if the Goos performed a third song.  I have to wait until 10-11 to tape it since Rochester is stupid.  And, if you're listening to www.wplj.com, let me know about what time the Goos are on.  I'm going back to sleep.   :D

I have to disagree with you on the Better Days performance, I thought they sounded great! John needs to stop smoking, I wouldn't encourage him to stay up all night smoking! That wouldn't be a good idea anyway since they have a radio interview on WPLJ in a little while, they should be on any time now.
But they sounded great! I loved the little interview in between the two songs! Johnny looked kinda funny in that 1800's coat, it must have been really cold for that thing!
Another thing, all throughout commercials I could hear goo songs playing. It was like there was radio stations playing all their songs one after the other, which was pretty awesome. I could hear Bettter Days being played LIVE behind a commercial before they went on stage! I don't know what all that was about and how it was being played live if they had not yet played it. I could hear people screaming.
Mike didn't have any gray hair! Robby looked really sick and small. He didn't look very wide in the shoulder area. That worries me.
But overall it was great! :D

I thought they looked and sounded great. Vocally Better Days probably could have been stronger but it was early and it was damp and cold. I think the sound system was off a bit too. I loved the jacket for the video shoot but today's jacket I just wasn't crazy about. I loved the Sargeant Pepper comment girl_right_next_to_him!!!! But it doesn't matter really what they looked like I still dig them no matter what! John's voice at 8am still gives me chills. 8)

Oh May.....(love saying that)  OF COURSE I was joking about the smoking and staying up all night!  We want Johnny and the guys to live FOREVER!

However,  I still stand by my "not so strong" for 8:30 in the morning opinion.  It's hard for anyone to sing that early and I was just saying that Better Days is a low octave song and I'm sure difficult to sing under any conditions.  Please don't take it the wrong way.  Case and point, Broadway was strong!  

Through it all, Goos rock.  So glad to see their pretty faces on the TV this morning.  All hail Goo!

It's hard to judge on tv vs being there...but I feel that "better days" is not the kind of song that u listen and wanna look all over the net for. It's a song that u gotta see as a music video, as a single on the radio before u get the feel. It seemed like a song that was starting slow and gonna get rough and loud and I think everybody was expecting that..but nope.

John looked like he had some makeup on...or the weather was too cold?? Besides his face, he looked great..the jacket was so cool.

Well....I thought they looked and sounded great.  But then, I always think that!  Better Days, in my opinion is going to become a very special song to many people.  

I give Johnny an A+ for fashion...loved the jacket :thumbsup: but must admit, was thinking about those incredible biceps underneath!  lol

Hey, who was the girl wearing the gutterflower jacket?  I saw that and said "yep, there's a true goo fan"

It was nice they mentioned Mikes Bday too ~ Happy Birthday Mike!   :woohoo:

lol. It sounded great but his voice was
(as much as I hate to admit it) kinda of not strong, but it still sounded great! I didn't mean to take it the wrong way, lol. Yea, Better Days is kinda a low octave song.
But Broadway sounded good, I was surprised that they played it. I thought it would be Better Days and Give a Little Bit.

Oh and Dreamaway 22 there is a picture from the Better Days video shoot on It's All Goo it's under the John and Noble Jones thread.

I haven't watched the performance yet, but I saw pictures, and as far as the jacket goes, I LOVE it! Dunno how many of you are up on the world of haute couture, but military jackets are all the rage right now. Kudos to Johnny for rocking it out!

I don't know...I was there and it sounded pretty damn good in person. And, they played that song for sound check and then again for a practice round right before they showed them live on TV, so we heard them play it like 5 times. Each time sounded good to me  :nanner:

Aw, Jeez.  A pile on ;-)!  I love Johnny and the Goos.  I'm sure being there live they could have sung "old MacDonald" and it would have rocked! It was 8:30.  New song.  GREAT SONG!  I respect - and am jealous that you were there - your opinion.  Just listen again.  He's a little shaky.  BUT, I'll take Johnny a little shaky at 8:30 AM over anyone anyday.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  I've still re-played the TIVO a dozen times today and smiled every single time.

I'm so happy to have had that little fix from this morning.  Granted, I had to wait until 6:00 when I got home from work to see it, but it was well worth the wait.  Although, I too could have gone without that jacket that John was wearing.  They looked and sounded great though...makes me really not be able to wait for that new record next year (and of course a new tour!!)

Hey! I got the sweater from the Goo store on their website a long time ago. I don't think it's there anymore - but I'm not sure.

My friend Melissa and I were shown during Better Days but had absolutely no clue that the camera was on us. But during Broadway - dude was right in our face. I was praying that the world couldn't see my nose running. LOL

I like the performace, it was such a good way to wake up now that i have it on tape  i watch it every morning like a pervert with my tounge hanging out.


I do agree that john voice did not seem as strong as usual but it still fit the song
