I while back there was floating a rumour of some MP3's of the early sessions the Goos did before going into the studio to record Superstarcarwash back in '93. Does anybody know where I can get a hold/buy these sessions...? I�d really like to get to hear these! :o Can someone help me out? Pretty-pretty-please� :-[ |

Post by [Joelage] on Sep 16th, 2005, 8:45pm Yeah, its on IRC (thats the name of the service) you can access IRC with a program called mIRC (the program) from there you can join the EFNET server and in that server, join the #googoodolls channel someone should be in there (like a chat room) with the files. and much more live/acoustic, tv, goo stuff (nothing from their actual albums or dvds which would be illegal). |

Post by PonderingMyFate on Sep 18th, 2005, 2:31pm http://www.thebigmachine.com has all of the info on the IRC chat... if you go there and click on 'irc', there's a link to a pretty good tutorial. (Then again, I haven't been on there in ages, so hopefully it's still accurate!) And not to promote it, but you can occasionally find some of the demos on your friendly local illegal music downloading program... kazaa or what-have-you. IRC is much easier to get them from, though. |

Post by Fuelie on Sep 18th, 2005, 2:41pm mIRC is really simple yet its hard to learn and you are going to say OMG when you get it right. it took me 6 months to learn how to use it. what you do is in the main chat you put @ find superstar carwash demos you get a bunch of stuff at th top listeing all the servers who have them. Click on the flashing red name. In there you will see a bunch of stuff that looks like this Jeff1691 File Server Search Found: 13 match(s) for: *yellowcard*. Current Server Status:�Sends: 1/1 Queues: 5/6� under that you'll see the list of sscw demos you'll see something like this called a trigger /ctcp Jeff1691 Jeff1691 right click your mouse and run it over the trigger to highlight it. it automatically copys it for you when you do that. at the bottom paste the trigger and hit enter. You'll get a box that pops up to except the DCC chat. Once in the server you'll see a bunch of other stuff. At the bottom type DIR and hit enter once the directory comes up it will give you a list of ALL the stuff the person is sevring. Find the superstar carewash demos. (sometimes they have them in their own seperate folder) highlight the sscw demos folder like you did the trigger and in hte bottom put CD and then put paste the sscw demos. You'll get something that says [\sscw demos) or however the folder is named. Once you see that type DIR again and it will open the folder and list the songs. Once you are in the actual folder for the demos highlight (just like you did the trigger) the song you want and type GET and then paste the one you want. (you have to copy the whole thing like I am downloaded yellowcard stuff right now you I have to copy the whole file name like this yellowcard - only one (sessions at aol) - videopimp.mpg) in your case it would be goo goo dolls which ever song) If the sever doesnt have any sends or queues you'll get another pop up to except the file. if you are queued then it will tell you what queu slot you are in. If that happens when it is your turn you will get the get pop up and you just except it. I know its a lot but thats pretty much how you do it. |

Post by PonderingMyFate on Sep 18th, 2005, 9:38pm Yeah, that whole higlighting thing always threw me off. :P Just hit Ctrl + C while the text is highlighted... the text will stop being highlighted, but it did copy. Then you can just paste it where it needs to go. |
