I have permission from someone who caught the last half of Clay's show at a casino to pass this on. The Goo Goo Doll song that Clay is singing in his show is "Iris". With Clay's voice, I think he made a wise choice. I thought some of you might like to know.

If you download this clip and then view it.......around 1 hr and 27 min and 40 seconds you can here him sing some of Iris.....He dosnt sing the whole song just a little bit and then jumps into ricky martin song.......

Let me preface this with...Clay has a great/strong voice, but is more of a lounge singer in my opinion.

Thanks for the link but...Oh Mercy!...I just don' think I can listen to it....can't bear the idea of Clay doin' Goo.

...threw up in my mouth a little bit :-X

yeah im not a fan of clay or him redoing it......but when i heard he did a cover i went searching for it online and found it......So I thought i post it for those who were curios

Totally! I'm just joking. I'll listen to it sometime. Have you heard Howie Day cover "Slide"? It's OK until he does some weird thing at the end with the "yeah, Slide" repetition.

Oh gosh Howie doin "Slide" i mean don't get me wrong i really like Howie i even have one of his cd's but him doin his own thing with "Slide" i don't know if i would listen to that and about the Clay and " Iris " thing Clay has a fantastic voice but no body can do it like Goo sorry that's just my opinion :-/

from its weird compressed quality, i like his singing of Iris, i'm only vaguly aware that Clay is some American Idol winner or soemthing.

I have Howie Day's current album but never heard his version of slide

Isn't his current album " Stop All The World Now "?? If so that's the one i have it's pretty good!!!!! :D

I put "slide" in the search on the peer sharing site - Limewire - and Howie's version came up. Of course I downloaded it. He changes some lyrics around, but it's goo, so I listen. His "Stop..now" CD is very good. Have you ever listened to David Gray? SO different from Goo, pretty acoustic kind of guy. I recommend the "White Ladder" CD for your first listen then go back through his CDs. He's a british guy from Wales. Talk about a guy who can write some lyrics. Amazing. :claps:

i love David Gray! Please Forgive Me is my favorite. . .although i only know that and Babble On, which i love, too!

i'm probably going to get pelted with large, smelly shoes, but i like Clay Aiken. even bought his CD and when no one is around blast and sing, "If I were invisible!" tiff says that it is an obscene stalker song. . .anyway, i haven't heard his version and i don't think my computer will cooperate long enough for me to try and download that clip. but i can imagine him singing it with his spikey red hair and that wink he does. . .and i don't think i like it. sorry Clay. . . ;D

David Gray and Goo are right there on top of my musical fav's. Love DG. That man can write a song! Comin' Down, The Light, Debauchery, Babylon.... so many to love! Funny, they are really nothing alike musically - but they are both just terrific.
