Post by tkc1989 on Aug 1st, 2005, 3:51am
So there's a least fav song thread so i thought i'd bring in one for videos....i know a lot of people dislike the iris video which i personally like....but my least fav video would probably be the long way down video (is there more than one version???) well the version i have is annoying to watch lol! :-X

I don't really like the Iris video just because it's boring. Johnny looks great in it, but it's just him spinning around in a rolly chair the whole time. You don't even really get to see the rest of the band. I just don't think it properly captured the intensity of the song.

As much as I love Broadway, I just never liked the video.  Too industrial...kind of silly especially considering the background of the song.  It would have been better shot in Buffalo on Superman corner!

I don't like the Twister version of Long Way Down, it makes me dizzy (and not  in a good way)

Sympathy....love the song, and the place where they shot it is beautiful but they focus too much on john and not the rest of the band.

Completely agree! Fun video treatment but cut the sound and it could be any song. Too bad they didn't use the song lyrics to create a beautiful (and meaningful) video treatment. I always thought Broadway could be a great video - something retro looking in a bar where the guys play several parts from barflys, barbacks to themselves. I saw it as John at a bar (perhaps tending bar) and in walks a man with his son and it's like John is watching himself as a boy. Then you cut to the entertainment and it's the band on stage performing the song.  Man and boy shot in sepia tone and band shot in color. Something powerful and lots of un-beautiful people in the bar. Oh well.

I kinda agree with Caroline on the Broadway video... that would have been neater and more true to the song... but I like the point of the video... how music, and music artists, of today (or 1999... whatever...) are so fabricated and made up, just to make cruddy music that no one can appreciate... how they're all so made up for fame, and not for music itself... that was the whole point of the video, I believe... but it didn't fit the song that well...

I don't have a least favorite anything Goo-related... even if some of the videos kinda suck, they're still Goo... that's good enough for me.  :)
