We are filming a film about the Goos. We figured since i'm going to film school that it would be a fun thing to do. �

so i have some questions that i hope you guys can answer.

Did Robby already know about the Replacements before he met John?

I also need to know more about the relationship between John and George back then.

I also need to know more abou't John's Ex-wife.

And any other little facts that ya'll think I might not know about when they were starting out. I already know they started as a cover band and they were the sex maggots and i know how they got the name Goo Goo Dolls.

I will have more questions when we start filming.

I need to know more about Rob and George's childhood.

I need to know more about Mike all together.

I need to know more about all of the band's part time jobs.

What is George doing these days and how does he feel about leaving the band. A big part of the film is about him leaving the band.

Johnny had a friend who he played with...that friend's cousin was robby..the rest is history

rob grew up in west seneca so it wasnt as rough as johnny's and george im pretty sure is from the city

john was in a band with rob's cousin. the band was called the beaumonts. one story goes that rob's cousin was trying to bring rob into the band so they could kick out john, but john and rob hit it off instead and eventually formed the group. according to a rolling stone article, john and rob had met before, when rob bought pot off john.

some of john's part time jobs: peanut roaster, dishwasher, bartender, radio promoter, fry cook

some of rob's part time jobs: pizza delivery guy, janitor, dj

george once said that he wrote a lot of the old ggd songs and was never given proper credit for it

The band Robby played in was called the Monarchs. I think Robby's cousin was friends with Johnny and that's how they met.

If I'm not mistaken, Robby worked at a number of places...um...I remember hearing he was a pizza delivery boy...wanted to be a DJ...that's all i can think of now. I heard something about Johnny working at a hotdog stand. Dunno bout the others...

Hopefully I helped a little bit. I'd like to learn more about Robby...Maybe somebody can help

I want to say that he played guitar...if George played the drums and Robby the bass...but I'm not sure...

I know Robby's is dark brown...I think George and Mike's are too...John, well, there's no telling. lol

Man...this reminds me of the story I was writing a while ago. It was about the beginning of the Goos...Instead of being all about Johnny, it was Robby's story and how he met Johnny. Goes back to how Robby tried to get Johnny to sing...turning out the lights so he wouldn't be nervous...Just about how the band began and everything they went through. It was facts mixed with a lot of fiction. It was fun, but I got stuck and never finished.

Might I suggest reading through the WOG Goo Goo Dolls FAQ (http://www.musicfanclubs.org/googoodolls/misc/faq.htm)... it's pretty comprehensive, if a little outdated, and answers a lot of your questions. :)

Mike has said this isn't true (though it would be pretty damn cool if he was.)

Can't really help with most of those other questions... I'd try to, but I've been out of the Goo loop for a while and don't want to pull anything out of my ass. :P Sorry!

I think his name was Paul, but you shouldn't take my word on that.

There are tons of articles out there about all this stuff and you would probably get more factual information from a search on those interviews than just asking for info on a message board.

rob graduated from medaille with a major in communications. john went to suny buffalo for a few semesters but didn't graduate. he was going to be a social worker.

Ok, i know i haven't been giving an update on this but here it is:

I've now finished pre-production and we are all ready to start filming in buffilo for the winter shots and we will go back this summer for the summer shots.

Just give me all the addresses you guys know that is goo related (Superstar car wash, amigone, john's home, rob's home, grorge's home, etc.)

Please guys, this will be a big help for us.

I heard Robby's cousin's name is Paul too.
Robby and John thought each other were freaks before they got to know each other.
Robby lived in a the suburbs of Buffalo and he was a happy-go-lucky kid with a loving family. It was very different from how John grew up.
George said he has no resentment towards the Goos now that they're successful.
I think John was a dish washer while he was living in his own apartment after his parents died.
I am sure all their natural hair colors are brown.
Mike liked the Goos before he joined the band so he already could play all of their songs.

Superstar Carwash is on William Street as you approach the heart of Buffalo. John's house is (I think) 8 houses away from the corner of Clark and Kent streets. I don't know which street. It is a white house, if you don't know what it looks like. I don't know about the other places.
