OK - boring Monday night.  Since we've been discussing favorite goo and not so favorite goo, how about favorite "live" performances.  It doesn't have to be - but can be - from LIB, but really anything you've heard recorded. Personally I think they're best when they're live.  Their personalities shine!  I've stated in the past that the Live in Alaska "Slide" is the best as is "Black Balloon" (the intro is beautiful), but I love American Girl & Jenny 867-5309 as well.  Talk amongst yourselves...ourselves... :jammin:

My fav moment is where Johhny is singing A Thousand Words :drool: :drool: :-* :-* And when it starts raining and when Robby is singing January freind!!!! Sorry i just have to many fav parts of LIB!!!!!!!! :-*

I love how John and Robby "work the crowd", smiling, connecting with people,  being their usual funny witty selves and they're both just so full of energy.   :nanner:  The one and only time I've seen 'em live I was in complete awe.

Favorite LIB moment would have to be towards the end of Sympathy when John kind of steps back, musses up his hair and then finishes the song grinning like he's thinking "thank god, I didn't f*ck it up!"  

GOD I LOVE THAT MAN ! :)

I always bring this up when we talk about live Goo moments and I'm sure most of yahs are all sick of hearing it. Haha so sorry!

Allentown Sept 3 2000 - John's fly had come down and someone wrote on a sign something like 'zip up your pants' and John goes "Good thing I decided to wear unerwear today!" hahaha it was so funny.

Probably the best song performance I saw live was Robby doing Tucked Away in Wilks Barre in 2002. He poured all heart and soul into it and it was just amazing.

How 'bout when - in LIB - Johnny & Robby are starting Broadway and Johnny gets so excited when he hears Mike start drummin'.  It's like he thought he and Rob we going to have to wing it without any backup.  Ah, there are so many good moments on that DVD...good times. :thinkin:

I just thought of another one. At the show in Wilks Barre in 2002 the disco ball took fffffffffffffffffffffffooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to come down and John just kept lookin up at it haha and when it finally came down he said "Good thing it wasn't News Years, that would have been all fucked up." hahaha

I don't remember where I read it... may have been over at AG, but there was this post about a live performance where John was doing Name (I think) and when he stopped during the momentary pause this woman in the front row screamed like mad..... and John looked down at her and goes...OMG, are you alright and she just looked at him and shook her head. He goes Jesus lady you scared the shit outta me! I LMAO when I read that, cuz I could just picture him doin it. I guess she screamed quite loud!

my fav concert moment was at the KY State fair when Rzeznik and Robby both started attacking the disco ball.  it was awesome. . .i have a review and a couple of pics from the show.  scroll to the bottom of the page and there is a pic of Rzeznik with the disco ball. . . ;D

omg i know this is off topic but i just found out that my aunt is engaged!omg....yay!it's about time.

anyway,i had to get that off my shoulders. umm during Name on LIB when Johnny says yeah yeah during a slower part of it it sounds great.actaully i love LIB every bit of it and i really love Black Balloon on LIA.They reall should have taken the music from LIA an dmade a cd out of it because everythign is acoustic and it sounds great.

LIB - when John fell to his knees during 1000 Words. Memorable because I was standing right in front of him when he did it.  First time in my life at a show I felt woozy like I was going to faint.

Darien Lake (Buffalo) 2003 -  Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray coming out and introducing We Are the Normal.  At the time it was my fave Goo song and I hadn't heard it live during any of the Jovi opening shows.

Hunters Hope Ball - 2003 (can't believe it was that long ago!) .  Most intimate setting I'd seen Goo.  And I met some REALLY cool Goo buddies there for the first time. It was weird to dance along to Slide wearing a ballgown, but I did it with pride.   ;D

wow these are great and funny!i wish i could have went to the july fourth show last yr.
oh gosh ihav eot share this,ok so about two yrs ago my little brother and his class are going to the RB Centura stadium thing in Raliegh NC to watch a circus or somehting well it was in Feb.well two months later The Goo Goo Dolls were at the very stadium playing a concert!and i didn't even know it until yesterday!that burns me up!they were that friggin close and i didn't know it until my mom looked up tour dates and places for the Gutterflower tour!You don't have any idea how mad that makes me.instead of spending nearly 70 dollars on that stupid circus i could have seen goo in exchange!i'm so ticked off!but theres nothing i can do about it now. :'( :'( :'( :'(

When John pauses and fixes his hair during Sympathy in LIB.  Also, in LIB, stares out  in the audience and pauses and points during NAME, specifically "and I won't tell'em your name.

Oh, but just thinking of those things, makes me weak!!!!!!!!

The Here is Gone performance on Live in Alaska when they are on the train...everything about it was amazing, the setting, the amazing guitar playing and his vocals just blend right into the song....and also Name on LIB, it sounds better than the original recording IMO!!! :-*

That sign wasn't mine, mine was the "Kick Ass" one remember?? It cracked me up though, just think the only signs that made it to the stage in Buffalo came from Kansans...how cool!!  ;D

REALLY?  :o  I thought you made both of them!   Of course I remember the "Kick Ass" sign, that one will go down in infamy, I think.  What I don't wanna remember was how early it was when it got made.   ;D  My brother's STILL giving me a hard time about that one, and it's over a year later.

We made some great signs that day and it was great to have one pulled up on stage.  What is really funny is...I went to the Michigan show and a couple of people actually recognized me from the DVD...LOL...all I could think was "Oh my God, why did I have to jump so much!"... :)

LOL! I think it's more the pointing at John thing that did it.  You're the chosen one, hon. ENJOY IT!   All I've got 1/2 a head shot during Name to prove I was there.  I have to pause the thing to prove it.   ;)  (and I'd rather not, HORRIBLE hair.  Why on earth did I ever dye it that color?)
