June 19th, 2005

Hello. Had a great Sunday off... had a little BBQ with our manager and our whole band (thanks John Dehais). It was nice to spend a few moments with just ourselves, not thinking about work.

It was a welcomed bit of relaxation after the first week of starting our new album with Glen Ballard. The energy in the room has been amazing. I truly believe that he has the talent and insight, as well as the patience, to take us to the next level. Every minute in the studio had been a learning experience and a real pleasure. I'm excited to be challenged by him to get to the heart of the matter and to reacquaint myself with the plot to our story.

He's been bringing us along with a new sense of musicality and hope that we haven't felt as a band in long while. I look forward to sharing the process because it's been so incredible I can't hold back from sharing it with ALL of you.

Right now we are still in the infancy of this project but it feels like it's going to be incredible. I feel re-energized and hopeful as we have a completely new perspective on what our job is. He has reminded us of what it is to appreciate music as an art form that deserves to be respected and treated with dignity. Commerciality aside, he's helping me find the ability to do and say and feel what is in the bottom of my heart and my soul. That gives me hope in all this mayhem.

Thank you for sticking by us through all of our ups and downs.... and always giving us your faith and loyalty.

OMG...how awesome is this? there's just no words to describe! john taking the time time to write to his fans just shows what an amazing person he is. hey, maybe they'll play some new songs for us at dearborn :nanner:

Hey guys...

It was funny, I was reading the update on their site and thought it just sounded different, and thought "I wonder if John wrote this one"...I was so excited to see that he had. Mix it up a little, right ;)

I've been away from the board here for awhile, after years of reading it constantly, but I think I'll have to make the time now with their new album coming out.

aahh!!! we've been getting little sparks of updates now and again and this was the flame! it sounds like they all have a new perspective on their music and it's got me thinking that this is going to be one of their best ones yet! now all we have to do is make it through the wait. . . ;D

As long as I've been a fan I've never read a tour diary written by John. That was AWESOME!!!! I could totally feel his excitement and energy. He totally pumped me up for this album and I was already excited. Now I'm just through the roof.

Dearborn here we come!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't friggin' wait now!!!!

I don't know if it's cuz I really had to pee and didn't want to go until I was finished reading that ....but I got
the chivery goosebumps LMAO!
That totally felt like it was from the heart and like he's just really excited about it all and just couldn't wait to tell all ~ya know?

I can't wait till Dearborn to see them ~20 days still seems too far away~!

Wow...what a wonderful thing to find on my b'day! LOL. I swear, I love those guys more and more every time I read stuff like that. I can't wait to hear all this great stuff they're working on!!

I've read it at least a half dozen times already...hell, I even printed it out to keep on my desk. My weekend was soooo crummy, this journal entry absolutely lifted my spirits!
