Title: Goo Goo Dolls CD
Post by eljefe on May 25th, 2005, 9:31pm
Hi everybody, I need to find a CD by the GGD.  I don't know what it is, but I know that the actual CD has a design on it that with black with white lines, quite possibly a microphone.  If anybody knows what it is, please let me know.  Thanks a lot.

that's probably "ego, opinion, art and commerce".  it is their 'best of' compilation.

I wouldn't say it's a "best of" CD since it doesn't have any of their big hits on it. More of a CD for people who only know their hits to get to know them better; hear the diversity of the songs that weren't so popular.

it's a "shoulda been hits" record, kind of like the Replacements did in 97

that's why i refer to it as a "best of" cd, instead of a "greatest hits" cd.  in the band's opinion, these were the songs that were their best, or that best represented them, not necessarily their "greatest hits".

It's definitely EOAC. I have a copy of it and it fits your description perfectly.

There may be no "Iris", "Slide" or "Black Balloon" but I still like the CD to bits. I think it's the ideal CD to let people try because the CD gives a good impression of what the Goos' music are all about. It may not be their biggest hits, but there are enough quality songs in there. The first time I listened to it and realized that it wasn't their biggest hits, I went 'you mean it gets even better than this?! :eyeroll:

It's an awesome CD I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't have all the Goo CDs, like myself. There are enough quality tracks in there to be worth anyone's money. I like the 'acoustic-esque' version of Two Days In February and the slightly extended version of "Acoustic #3"

I love this album and listen to it over and over again- i dont have all their eaarlier albums yet and for now i can still have a chance to listen to the older unkown songs that still sound fresh like the time they were released.
I was listening to Flat top and that line 'sleeping on the white house lawn aint never changed a thing, just look at all those washed out hippy dreams' really sticks with u... john is a really good songwriter. Plus 'up yours' - well what can i say - it is so the opposite of iris and name - and that's a good thing - cos it shows how much their music has changed.
Also, the extra pics r cool - John always had good hair!!! - but its a shame that i couldnt watch the bonus features - which i have no clue which one's they were.
I wanna know though, how come the guys rarely have 'Thankyou' sections in their cds like other bands do??

Next to SSCW this is my favorite album. I love that it's all my favorite songs but they haven't been played to death on the radio. I listen to this one all the time. My kids even request it ;)
