Hi,

i was watching that interview of goos on 'oxygen' on net and they were talking about how slide is really a popular song amongst the fans and cos at their concerts they sing along too. This got me wondering if slide appeared in a movie or something and that maybe this was the other song nominated for grammy, cos black balloon and iris were also grammy nominated and featured in films. Or is this song just like how name was - popular on its own. Just wondering.

I don't think this song was featured in a movie. It definitely wasn't written for a movie. I don't think it was nominated for a Grammy either. It was just really popular, I believe.

"Slide" was used for the trailer of the movie "Playing by Heart" (or something super similar in title; it had the actor Sean Connery). This was back in '98 or '99, i think.

Hey yr right and i didnt know this. I have the dvd since 1999/2000 and i just watched the trailer again after these years - i wonder how i missed that. Its a WB movie and WB are there record label and this is one of the movies i guess they use the goo songs. Goos music i have noticed is used widely in the WB movies alot.

I really want to see sweet November - its been years since its been out and ive been saying im gonna watch it, that's it 'i will watch it this summer'!!!! LOL Then i can check out that trailer on the DVD!!! �:)

Slide was the song that really got me hooked! i heard it on the radio one day and had, "do you wanna get married or run away" in my head for days. i was going around the house singing it, just that line mind you and driving everyone around me crazy! so i found out who sang it, bought the album and been obsessive every since. . . ;D

i love that lyric.. it's so simple but it has so many hidden meanings that u can think of.
That line opens yr mind and u r so free to choose if u wanna get married or run away.. so beautiful. You think John is singing to you.. yeh i wanna run away and get married hehehenh
