Title: Maximum Goo Goo Dolls/Grammy Post by Dream of Goo on May 2nd, 2005, 6:27am Has anyone bought this cd by Chrome dreams - its the one with small inteviews with the band and biography? Anyway, it usually sells for like 7.99 and i found it in the cd section of a 1 shop!! where all the products cost a pound! but wait it didnt actually cost 1, it was on half price for 50 pence!!! U know it's kinda funny i got it this cheap, but then it makes me think 'show how much people like goo in the uk'. but then again it's not actually their album, it's like an unofficial thing. When i listened to it, John says a funny thing, he say that he's gona get a t-shirt made saying ' i got nominated for 3 grammys but left with this lousy t-shirt'...lol. Obviously this is about iris, i think losing out to celine's my heart will go on for the grammy - i'm not totally sure. But other grammy's were their songs nominated for.. was one of them black balloon... as a goo fan i should know this and i cant believe i dont :o. Thanks ;) p.s they should have won the grammy!!! |

i've heard this too...i've never listened to the whole thing, even though i have it bookmarked on rhapsody, but i've always heard that it is pretty much full of malarkey. |

Black Balloon was nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for 2000. I think Santana beat them out on that one. I seem to remember a John quote from somewhere about Celine Dion's song winning over Iris. Something along the lines of "That cow stole my grammy." |

Title: Re: Maximum Goo Goo Dolls/Grammy Post by Dream of Goo on May 3rd, 2005, 12:40pm Thanks, that so humourous what john said about celine... my brother's got all her cd's lol. So after iris and black balloon, what was the other song nominated? and what film was black balloon in - was it here on earth with josh hartnett- i think it was played at the beginning. |

Title: Re: Maximum Goo Goo Dolls/Grammy Post by goober_1013 on May 3rd, 2005, 3:26pm i believe that Black Balloon is the last song that has been nominated for a Grammy. . .and it was in the movie you are talking about. . .here's my favorite thing Goo have said about Celin Dion, it's taken from the MTV new year thing. . . Norris: Uh, the Sex Maggot question is the one that Thalia just asked. She wants you guys to 'fess up as your confession for 2000. Why the name change way back then? John: Cuz that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Robby: I confess that we drank too much back then. John: It's stupid. Norris: Is that it? John: Can we make a confession? Norris: Sure any confessions you need to make, to get off your chest, we're here for that. John: One of us, one of us in our band, and I feel guilty about it, was driving on the highway next to Celine Dion's bus. Norris: Ah, yeah. John: And um, somebody in our band, (sadly)pulled down his pants and pressed his ass against the window. Norris: Wow, wow. And was there a reaction from Celine's crew? John: (quickly) No. Norris: Really? John: (quickly) No, no reaction. None. Norris: And we're not gonna know which one of you did this? John: No. Robby: There was no reaction. Norris: I think Celine is in Montreal doing a big show tonight, you could give her a communal moon if you want. *John acts like he is going to pull his pants down* Norris: No, no! it's much funnier when you see it cuz rzeznik seems sincerely sad. . .whether or not this is true, that's another story. . . ;D |

Title: Re: Maximum Goo Goo Dolls/Grammy Post by Dream of Goo on May 4th, 2005, 4:52pm U know ive been into guys for years now, but i have to reveal something..... i only realised after how cool and good looking rockers john and robby and mike were. This is because i only listened to their songs and on their albums there are not many pics of them and they dont have long thankyou sections on their albums like other bands on dutg and gutterflower. Plus by chance i got hold of the maximum goo goo dolls thing, which i know most of u dont approve of, and to come to think of it, the pic of john and robby are not that complimentary to them and those images stayed me for a while. But i was never put me off listening to them. |
