Title: A GOO SIGN
Post by Dream of Goo on Apr 30th, 2005, 7:15am
I have this experience i want to share, not really a big thing but i felt happy after it,

Earlier this year, One really dull morning, it was raining and for some reason i was really sad and stressed about something. Anyway, i was walking past some shops in my towm with my thoughts when i came past a clothes shop and i heard Goo Goo Dolls 'iris' playing. I imediatley stopped. i looked into the shop and listened for a second, i was really happy and that cheered up my day!!! The people in the shop probably thought i was weird not going into the shop but listening to the song whist outside, lol. Even though i have heard iris loads times and have it on cd, i felt at that moment it was like a cheer up sign.

Anyone had an experience like this??

never had one quite like that. i've been in a grocery store and heard "Black Balloon" come on the radio and i actually stood there under the intercom, in the middle of the isle, just to hear it finish; i got all excited about it. i've done that a few places. i was at an Arby's a few weeks ago when i heard "Give A Little Bit" played and i just stood there in front of the register all giddy about it; they must have thought i was on crack. even though you have all those Goo songs on cd's, it just makes it extra special and exciting when you hear it on the radio for some reason. i'll never figure out why though. i hear "Name" played on the radio a lot...they play it like at least once a day on 94.1 the mix. i've never heard any songs from the SSCW era though, makes me kinda sad...O well, as long as i have it on cd, i'm happy. they don't play hardly any Gutterflower songs here either, except "Sympathy" like every other two to three weeks lol...some ppl have really bad taste on the radio. if i had my own radio station, there would be a 24 hour Goo Goo Dolls marathon at least once a day! lol. that way when listeners turn the radio on to my station, they can be damn sure to "catch" a Goo song...hopefully, i would be brightening some days for ppl.

I have had some experiences like that. Last night, I went out to a bar, where they have a dj. Low and behold, I hear "Give A Little Bit" !! I got a little giddy because they rarely play GOO, and for that one moment, I was so excited and realized that I can not wait until they tour again.

I have a very Goo-friendly station here. (For those of you in the Washinton DC area, it's 104.1.) I'm always hearing Black Balloon and Name and Iris and occastionally Sympathy on it.

I always linger around in stores just to listen to the occasional unexpected goo song tho. Maybe that's why it's so exciting, cuz it's unexpected. ;D

I work in a large retail store and very rarely do they play Goo,when they do it's always Black Balloon.I just usually stop and find the speaker and work under it.The last time I did this I was also singing along :cucumber: and my boss walks by and shakes his head :shakehead:.I'm always being kind of silly but I'm really shy as well and I guess i must have looked so funny singing and working that day.I gotta work overnight tonight and last time they only played country music the whole time,I hope tonight there will be Goo!! :D
