Title: MAGAZINE ARTICLE Post by Shadgoo32 on Apr 16th, 2005, 4:24pm Hey everybody. I found this short article in what i do believe Time Magazine. I know the date though, and its March 29th, 2002. I was very bored in my study hall during school, so i was looking through some magazines. I came across this and i yelled out omg, and everybody gave me a wierd look, lol, but yeah, heres wat it says.... >>Singles GOO GOO DOLLS ' "Here is Gone" (Warner Bros.) In the tradition of "Name" and "Iris," the Goos' moody modus operandi is in full effect on this latest bid for charts and hearts. If it's starting to feel a bit like a formula--mix power balladry with a touch of power pop, add plenty of acoustic guitars and Johnny Rzeznik's sensitive loner vocals--well, it's an effective one. Gooey, but good. B+ -- Tom Sinclair |

Title: Re: MAGAZINE ARTICLE Post by Caroline on Apr 16th, 2005, 8:06pm Don't whip me but I agree with the author. Here Is Gone is one of the weaker songs on Gutterflower (how many times does he say "yeah" anyway?) and it's at best a B. Big Machine should have been the first single off that CD - it's a much stronger song. |

You are more of a dork than I thought. Yelling OMG in study hall? Better than OMFG, but you're a little more weird than I thought. I wouldn't yell, I would be doing the happy dance in my seat or I would all of a sudden smile really big. I dunno. BTW... I was kidding with the dork and weird thing, lmao ;D |

Five is too many. It's weak lyricism. He's previously proven can write better than that. Repetition can be used effectively but in this case it's not. Instead, it became a joke (i.e. the "Yeah" girls on the tour). |
