Title: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by johnnysgirl on Mar 28th, 2005, 8:08am So, is anyone going to bring their little ones to the show in Dearborn? I have a 7 and 5 yo who love Goo but they have never been to a concert before. I think if there are other kiddies there they may have more fun! What does everyone think? |

I would try to post and find out more about this particular location and how the venues are as far as the crowds and organization of the crowd, how rowdy is it??? I've been to a lot of shows before and I went to one in Groton...which was a general adm. Let me tell you it was utter chaos.... the crowd was wild and outta control..... i saw people there with their kids and their kids were crying because they were getting clausterphobic(SP) and crushed. I myself had to be pulled and would up in the Red Cross tent from bruised ribs. anyway....... Just find out more about the crowd control and the way the shows are normally. |

Title: Re: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by ShanGooFan on Mar 28th, 2005, 9:55am I plan to take my 8 year old daughter. It will be her first show ever. She's very excited. My hubby's coming too ... hopefully he can help with crowd control in the event things become out of hand. In my experience ... at least at Goo shows ... people look out for the kids. But, I'm sure every show and every venue is different. Blessed, that's a good idea to look into the security and crowd control plan. |

Title: Re: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by blessed_by_goo on Mar 28th, 2005, 10:01am This particular show was a Bon Jovi show I was there with the Backstage w/Jon B Jvi fan club, it was at the Groton CT Navy base...It was BAD!!! I felt so bad for those kids and no one could move, we were packed like sardines..... my suggestion would be if the venue is questionable, to take the sidelines and not try to be so close to stage..... for the safety of the kids....You never know, ya know? |

Title: Re: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by ShanGooFan on Mar 28th, 2005, 10:05am Yeah ... that's a good point. I know if it looks rowdy my hubby would tell me stay up close and he'd just take our daughter back a bit ... he's great like that. |

Title: Re: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by [Joelage] on Mar 28th, 2005, 7:27pm I dont have kids but i think i would only bring them if there would be a designated "moshpit" area so you know where you can be without being squashed. I would think if the venue was rather large, say a stadium, and you know that there will be a place away from the main crowd where you can sit down or something would be good for the kids.. |

Title: Re: Bringing kiddies to the show in July??? Post by FizzyGoo on Mar 28th, 2005, 7:43pm I went to my first concert when I was 8...it was Jimmy Buffett. There were people smoking pot right behind us, people stumbling around drunk, bad words and nudity abound.... and I had the time of my life. almost 10 years later I can still remember it perfectly. Hahah if my first concert was Jimmy Buffett and I came out perfectly unscathed, your kids should be ok with the Goos. |

LOL ... the thing is ... my hubby would do that if I asked him to. Hell, he might even offer if he had another guy to hang with. He knows what the Goos music means to me and is so supportive. We'll definitely have to look for each other. Let us know if you call and find out what the setup is...I'm curious now too. |

Hey Shannon, my hubby will be with me at the Dearborn show. Maybe our hubby's can hang out together? I know how they feel being the only guy there, surrounded by us women. ;D As far as kids, my kids are not kids anymore, but they do love Goo! They have always been exposed to music, since they were babies. They have seen more bands than I have. :jammin: My youngest is 17. She will be in Florida in July, and won't be able to make the Dearborn show. She is out in Sacramento/San Fransisco/Lake Tahoe right now for Spring Break. When they grow up, it's a whole new ball game. :hahaha: Both my daughters are going to see Gavin DeGraw with me up in Ann Arbor, MI on April 12th, and again in Toledo, OH on April 13th. It is awesome when we do get to go to shows together. They are a hoot! :woohoo: My oldest daughter isn't sure about going to the Dearborn show yet? She works, and is a photography/journalism major in college. She is always seeing this band, or that band, doing interviews, or taking photos, etc. :dunno: All I know for sure right now is that I will be there, with the hubby! :eyeroll: |
